Iggy, he will play the role Prince played on the 2008 team, but will see more minutes.

Whoever gets in between Harden and Gordon will play the role of Redd.

Neither will make it imo.

I'm assuming you think Westbrook does.

While he is probably the most talented player of the three, I think we would be better suited with a natural 2-guard to be one of the last players off the bench rather than a 3rd point guard who isn't the best distributor.

they'll need another shooter, imo.

But he is just a less talented version of Lebron/Durant.

Talent-wise, he may be better than Gordon, Harden, etc. but making this team isn't about just picking the 12 most talented players and rolling the ball out in practice.

You have to pick the right role players for the right situations.

I think they've learned their lesson after Hersey Hawkins. I just hope they don't try to throw a big man on there for number reasons.

It's from 88 when Thompson took one shooter, Hersey Hawkins. He got hurt and they couldn't score. They had to use Maerjle as the shooter and used Bimbo Coles and Charles Smith as the guards. Hawkins doesn't get hurt they win probably, that team was very good inside, had Manning and Robinson, no outside shooters though.

Which likely means the Dream Team doesn't happen in 92 because the bronze medal finish in 88 is what started the movement.

i think they have the luxury of having a specialty player on this team. This is nothing like 1988 man.

But what my point is this team needs to be a complete team not best available players.

You and Lester are, but some are debating people that shouldn't be in the convo. That is why I mentioned the Miller type players and make sure to get a big man or someone that is willing to play on block and sacrifice scoring etc. Team USA doesn't need a big man just because he is big.

I know this sounds crazy, but I could see K trying to put this lineup out as starters.

C-James
F-Bosh
G-Durant
G-Bryant
G-Paul

First off bench Weatbrook for Bosh to go small and start trapping like a 1-2-1-1 and use Durant as point of the press. He showed it some at WC. Plus it would be quick enough for drive kick that the Euros run.

I tihnk there is a nice mix. Guys like Chandler, Love, Iggy, etc will play their roles.

First Team:

PG- Chris Paul
SG- Kobe Bryant
SF- Lebron James
PF- Chris Bosh
C - Tyson Chandler

Second Team:

PG- Deron Williams
SG- Andre Igoudala
SF- Kevin Durant
PF- Carmelo Anthony
C - Kevin Love

Extras:

Rudy Gay
Anthony Davis
Dwayne Wade
Russell Westbrook
Blake Griffin
Eric Gordon
James Harden
Lamar Odom

If I had to choose just two of these, it would be Gay and Westbrook because DWade is hurt I think, Odom is old, Griffin might be hurt? Only other argument for me would be Davis, but I think we will play small more anyways.

Only reason I have Bosh on first team and Durant on second instead of playing LeBron at PF is to even out the scoring in both lineups. Don't want Kobe, LeBron, and Durant on same lineup.

I have not heard a compelling argument for Gay yet.
