My buddy was joking Belichick probably saw some small white guy bagging groceries at publix in Foxboro and brought him in to play WR.

My neighbor was a very good D2 WR, is 5’10”, and about 170

I’m getting more sure every year that he could’ve played for the Patriots

While I agree with you that Danny was held back because of injuries. I don't think of him as a world class wide receiver. He was most certainly a role player. Not a featured threat.

With a lot fewer injuries, Amendola would still be with the Patriots.

Brady would have cut him loose. That dude is a little fricking weird in the head.

Brady? Yeah, he's gotten a little weird with the TB12 method and stuff.

This guy was on the way to the quick mart to pick up a can of snuff, some Slim-Jims, and a Mountain Dew and Belichick stopped him and said "you're running routes today... suit up."

He also looks like the type of guy that has had to say "yea I'm 25 and my girlfriend is 16, but her parent are cool with it."

They had interest in bringing Danny back both times he’s been a FA, but someone else wanted to pay him more money

Despite him being a weirdo on Instagram I still love Danny playoffs.

Clearly Belichick found this guy shopping at the local bass pro shop.

But that’s not the argument. The argument is are white skill players underutilized, the exact same argument as are black QB’s underutilized.

It’s all good. Those of us from the Midwest know bemidji. I’ve been there. Huge Paul Bunyan statue.

It really is fascinating. This fella would likely not touch the field (on paper) at LSU yet is returning punts and catching passes for the best football team on earth. Hard to wrap your mind around that or how it’s possible.

He same way Wisconsin is top ten. Same way that we turn small town qbs into NFL players, especially receivers.

Same way that packers have Derrius Shepherd on their roster.

He played D2 football. There are tons of D2 players in the nfl. Danny Woodhead. John Brown. Chris Ivory. Ty Hill. Adam Thielen.

Recruiting. Player development. Not an exact science.

No he isn’t. Incredible talents who put up numbers in college get drafted.

Doesn’t make him not a good player or important to his team.

Amendola didn’t really roll out of bed until the playoffs. He had a few nice games while in New England.
