Has the snoozefest that is the MLB All Star Game made its way to postseason?

The All-Star Game has become a bore. It’s fresh arms parading in throwing straight fire for an inning. Props to the pitchers, but the 3-2 and 2-1 type games can only be fun for so long. The most runs any team has scored in the divisional round is 5. The Wild Card round had a couple of games where a team put some runs on the board, but the opposition was dominated, a one sided affair if you will.
With the way bullpen-type games are becoming the norm in MLB, will we see majority low-scoring games for the rest of October?

This is the best MLB playoffs I’ve watched in years. I’m enjoying every game.

Has had some great pitching for sure.

quote:Bullpen-type games are already a postseason norm though. You ride the arms off the #1 and #2 that got you there in their games but the others are usually all hands on deck. The back-end starters (and fairly regularly #3) plan for limited innings, and the same 3-4 relievers take it home

All offenses see in the postseason is the opposition’s best starters, their weaker starters in situations they’re most effective, and their best relievers. But the low scoring games that emerge from this is already the established status quo, not something new
The only notable 2026 phenomena impacting scoring is disproportionately weaker offenses in the field than the norm. You can put 4 teams in the good to elite bucket (CHI, LAD, MIL, CWS) but everyone else is closer to average (SD, TB) to just bad (CLE, PHI)

Maybe. Are you really upset that managers have finally realized how to manage a staff?

Raise your hand if you haven’t watched a single MLB postseason game
The national level of boredom and indifference with the MLB playoffs is at an all-time peak

Division series round.
10 games:
No one has scored over 5 runs.
Largest margin of victory has been 3.
That is good baseball. Great pitching and timely hitting.

Game 7 of the 1991 Series is considered an all time great game.

Doesn’t mean the product is great.

Of course it is. You also had two HoFers dueling in a 10 innings game 7.
I stand by my comment. I absolutely love baseball, but this current style of game play isn’t going to attract new fans. Here are some stats that are telling…
-White Sox struck out 19 times yesterday. I’m a Guardians fan, and stoked they won, but analytics render 19 Ks boring.
-Putting the ball in play goes against analytics, but the top three teams in batting average have all advanced to the LCS
-the Yankees had 12 hits over a 3 game series
You can do a deep dive into this stuff, but the analytical nature of the game is lowering the entertainment value. I’m afraid it won’t change until we see something drastic, like bumping the rubber back a few inches.

Managers do what they have to do to win.

Playoffs have been outstanding so far. Go watch the Savannah Bananas if you need high scoring, you’d probably like all the guys twerking too

I wonder how many casual baseball fans tuned into the Braves-Dodgers hoping to see superstars like Ohtani and Acuna do their thing, only to be left completely unsatisfied.

Yeah man, you roasted me with that one.
I just like seeing the ball put in play more, action on the basepaths.

I strongly disagree with the premise and your conclusion. I realize many people don't enjoy watching baseball on the television, but for me and many others it is highly entertaining and fun.
