I’ve always wondered if there’s a legit small NFL fan base over there or is just mostly Americans who live in England going to these games

It’s a novelty thing Brits go to. It wouldn’t have success to base a team or league there like the NFL thinks. The baseball games were packed too with 60,000 people but no one wants a baseball team.

If you played a few premier league games in New York City each season they would sell out too but no one actual cares about them here.

I went when the Saints played there last. It was a strange atmosphere for the most part. It was a Dolphins “home” game so everything was kinda contrived to get the fans to cheer for the Dolphins but it seemed like the Brits I was around were really just there to see a game, not really into it

I went to Saints-Dolphins in London. It was one of strangest games I have ever been to. Wembley Stadium is great & would go back in a heartbeat. All the European fans wore jerseys of pretty much every team in the NFL. They weren't loud fans & by far the loudest they got was when the Dolphins cheerleaders took the field. One of the fans near us admitted they don't get to see hot cheerleaders over there so this is a special thing.

One of the Dolphins fans from England we struck up a conversation with in the lounge area said he was a Dolphins fan because of Ace Ventura Pet Detective. We were stunned. The Saints won thank goodness. The people were really nice at the game & security was heavy getting in. It took awhile to get in.

I went to see the Skins

It’s mostly Brits and people from main land Europe

But with the Jags it seems a lot of English people who didn’t have a team before have adopted them as their team

Probably contrived movement done by the N.F.L. to justify moving the Jags to London.

They should do a game in Germany. I feel like Germans would be more into a violent sport than the Brits

Yes, the country that basically ran the entire world through colonialism isn’t into violence.

No but I’ve been to bars in London that show nfl games and there’s surprisingly a big following. Lots of actual brits following the game.

When I was there in 2012 and wanting to watch the games during fantasy super bowl week we had to find some bar in a train station that was the only place that showed games.

They didn’t give a frick about it then

Sky Sports over there has 2-3 different Jacksonville Jaguars based shows, so it seems like the NFL is trying to see if they will adopt one of their teams.

I had to pause the game this morning and count the number of different jerseys were in the crowd during a a crowd shot because it was stunning. They had about 16-18 different teams in one shot

I’d imagine it’s similar to what English soccer is to the US. Not the most popular sport but there is a niche following and plenty of bars showing the games.

Shad Khan, the Jags owner, also owns Fulham Football Club in London.

There’s your connection.
