Kiff has already started getting annoying with Ole Miss about assistants getting poached etc

Auburn won a title, lost a title game, and went undefeated but didn't get a title shot all in the last 20 years. Ole Miss has finished in the top 10 once since integration and technically that one didn't happen.

I'd say the boosters will keep Auburn from winning another title.

Only way I see a successful, name, coach going there is if they guarantee a contract like Jimbo's. And even then you have the crap last year where the nutjob boosters tried to cook up shite to get him fired with cause.

I'll be amazed if they pull in a big name.

Possibly, but their shot is better than 0, which is where Ole Miss's boosters are at.

If Kiffin wants to coast on easy street and never win anything, Ole Miss is perfect. If he wants to win a title, he's going to have to upgrade. There aren't that many schools who are an upgrade over Ole Miss, but Auburn is one of them.

And I'm not even saying this to talk shite about Ole Miss. I hate Auburn more than any other team, but they're a vastly superior program to Ole Miss.

As did Tuberville eventually, who actually had a better win % than Malzahn. Auburn has fired every coach since Pat Dye for lack of success: no one's really sure what their expectations are but they're seemingly pretty high

I feel like Auburn wants to be the #1 team in Alabama. They expect that level of success. But the truth is they are closer to the level of an Ole Miss rather than UA. And that must kill them inside. They will continue to run through coaches trying to keep up that delusion in their head.

This is how I see them.

They got Cam Newton and won. How have they done otherwise?

Have gotten their shite pushed in for the most part.

As has been stated previously: in the past 20 years, they have played for 2 titles and should have played for a 3rd.

This is with their divisional rivals including Alabama and LSU (who have played for a few titles in that 20-year span).

Until a board for this comes alive, my speculation is James Franklin follows the Brian Kelly model and leaves his successful program for the SEC.
I sure hope so.
Ohio State has him nowhere near prepared enough for the skull fricking his guys will get from Gump/GA/LSU/Florida every year.

Yes, Stupid, he did.
Now explain how beating the team he would potentially be coaching prepares him for getting skull fricked by Gump/GA/LSU/Florida every year after going to coach there.

this is sort of fair, but we consistently have one of the hardest if not the hardest schedules in the nation and despite our reputation of being insane, are only on our 6th coach since like 1992, which I would bet would be pretty favorable compared to other programs

think about 2017. We beat bama AND UGA, then got beat in a rematch against UGA, then those two played for the natty. We havent had great records, but we arent exactly facing the schedule many others have to

we shouldnt have fired Gus without a better plan. We went insane when Gus ran the Notre Dame Box against clemson snapping it to our fullback, and frankly he was on a ticking clock after that

Ignoring the fact that we’ve won titles before Cam. And the fact that we were in the National title game 3 years after Cam

I wont say that they should not be compensated but I do believe it should be greatly reduced. Not just minus the new salary

But, a contract is a contract and it should be honored until teams stop giving them

The idiot ADs let themselves get played. There was no reason for Michigan State to extend Mel Tucker after one season. If some other school comes along that soon and wants to pay him that, let him walk.

If enough schools would take the hard-line stance and let their coach walk for a better deal, these insane deals would stop once enough coaches flopped.
