Either one is a fine pick if you want good production, one gets the calls and the other doesn't need it to produce

You rocketards get so mad when people question your team.

Not sure I've seen one that I'd label as 'sensitive'. The Rockets have a passionate fanbase, one of the best in the NBA. You on the other hand, are without a doubt sensitive.

As far as NBA knowledge goes I would put the best Rockets posters up there with any other fan base on this board. This whole "Rocketard" stuff actually spun off from me calling Louie T a Hornetard back in the day. There are obviously more Pels fans around here and most of them hate all things Rockets for whatever reason. They call Harden a flopper but practically worshiped CP3 before he left despite being one of the biggest douchebags in the game.

I said before the year Houston would be the most hated team on this board and it's pretty obvious that is the case. Dwight was suppose to be a team cancer, Harden was a ball hog, ect. Seems like things are working out ok right now but people are still mad.

Meh.

You guys only wanna talk about how awesome players are but we'll never admit to their faults.

I get being optimistic about your team and whatnot, but sometimes it's over the top.

With that being said, you guys are clearly in a much better position now than you were just 2 seasons ago.

Now will that be enough to put them at the top of the West above San Antonio, OKC, and LAC going into the next few seasons?

We'll see.

It's a combination of having enough fans to be homers but at the same time not having enough to control the board. Plus New Orleans people seemed be obsessed with all things Houston (see OT)

I don't think I've ever seen a Rockets fan on this board accept that Harden is a very poor defender.

Several have said Parsons is well on his way to becoming an elite player in this league.

And the overselling of the values of players such as Beverley, Lin, Jones, etc.

Again, I'm all for being optimistic. But it seems that we only discuss the good (and often times this is exaggerated) without being able to handle any criticisms.

Food for thought on Harden to keep this on the topic of the OP:

One of my best friends has close to the front office and is employed by the Thunder. He's told me with 100% certainty that Harden will still be in a Thunder jersey if he was willing to play defense. They gladly would have maxed him if he had.

I am a Rockets homer. However, I do not get to watch them often because I live on the east coast and they are only on national tv every once in a while.

I remember watching them before and him being a liability on that end. When I watched the Rockets/Heat game live, I actually didn't think he was as much of one anymore. Obviously having Howard helps, but he looked like he took better defensive angles than in the past.

He has done a good job against LBJ, which not many people can say

See my point above. He's not a good defender yet, but I think he's better (how much of that is due to Howard is unknown)

A lot of people joke about hardens crap d. I think a lot of it has to do with the coaches not wanting the focus of the offense getting to foul trouble every night. I hope to see him turn up the effort in playoffs

Classic MSB Rockets' fan response.

Trying to bring content and actual discussion into the thread? Nah, let's fling mud and blindly discredit what people are trying to say.

Funny, Harden was the guy who was D'ing Kobe up the year they went to the finals. I was a big fan of his then and said that he would be a max player when people here thought that was crazy talk.

He is not an elite defender by any means and at the beginning of the year he was pretty shitty. He's turned it up the 2nd half though and has really been a leader that even I didn't think he was capable of becoming. I watch every game though and don't rely on message board speak to form my own opinion. It's not just related to Houston though. I have been a Westbrook defender long before you were posting on this board. You should know how retarded some of these people can be about him. Same goes for Harden although probably not to that extreme.

Parsons is good. Future elite player, no. Beverly is just a scrappy player. I don't know of anyone who would tell you he's anything more. Lin has been disappointing for sure and I doubt you will get anyone to argue his case either.

Also I think your friend is probably talking out if his arse. I seriously doubt the reason they didn't max out Harden was because of his D. If they go on to win a title this year it won't matter, but no one expected Harden to be this good and I bet they would do things differently or at least find a better deal if they knew what they know now.

I honestly give 2 shits what you believe.

It is the truth.

And it's 100% consistent with all the moves OKC has made in recent years:

Commitments to Perkins and Sefolosha for defense.

Re-signing Ibaka (shot-blocking) before they had begun to finalize an offer to Harden.
