Hey I am a big believer in trading an unknown for a known product....

it just sucks arse if that unknown ends up becoming a superstar

I would do it though, Halladay on that team (if he can handle pressure) would give them upper hand in any series.

I think Drabek is awesome. He clearly knows how to pitch.

He's overrated.

He's very good, but some people are making him out to be a top 5 or 10 prospect in all of baseball and he's not THAT good.

Since his promotion to AA, ALL of his stats have gone down.

R-E-TARDED for the Phillies. Why sell your farm system for 1 guy a year after you won the World Series and are ahead by like 9 games in your division?

Not R-E-TARDED for the Phillies. They giving prospects for a proven commmodity..Not only is he proven but is one of the top 3 pitchers in the league. They are not renting either, they get him the rest of this yr and next(and may be able to resign him). With that lineup and with Hamels and Halladay they can win this yr and next. They are not playin to win divisions, the Phillies are trying to win Championships.

1 guy that can play every 5th game.

He can single handely win 2 games out of a 7 game series by himself.

FWIW with Halladay they become the definite favs in the NL.

iirc Happ has been a stud this year.

and he'd be tied up for five more years. Hamels and Happ? Pretty solid.

Not saying this is a bad deal, but it's an awful lot to give up

no, after you have six full years of service time.

So technically, the Phillies have him for six years after this season.

No he is giving up more hits, homers, his ERA is higher, his WHIP is higher, he is getting less ground balls, and most importantly his SO/9 has gone down by 4 per 9 innings.

Yea its solid.. but I dont think u can compare it to Halladay and Hamels in a 7 game series.

Your telling me Happ is goin to be better or as good as Halladay? (Especially this yr or next)

Potential and prospects get u fired

and how old is he?

just so you know, looking at minor league numbers for making an evaluation is really pointless.

I don't know. Nobody does.

But solid starting left handed pitching is a high commodity, and having two on a staff is nuts.

Drabek I can see trading...but Happ is a tough one for me. I think Halladay is the best pitcher in baseball bar none, but again he's somewhat of a rental player as it stands.

They should have sent Hamels and Drabek.

He is 21, so he isn't playing above his level. And most stats in the minors aren't telling, his 6 SO/9 and raised fly ball rates are not good signs. He is a top 25 prospect, but he certainly isn't untradeable.
