You might as well have started that with:

"With all due respect..."

You don't need a crystal ball to know Kershaw will be a Cy Young winner. You just have to watch him pitch for an inning.

If you trade Kershaw for Halladay..The Dodgers become the favorite to win the World Series

He's a good pitcher but to gurantee a CY Young...Especially in a league with a lot of young good pitchers

i know what you're saying but my point is the unknown is just that.

weird stuff happens in the postseason. Obviously with Halladay the Phillies become really tough to beat in a series but it doesn't guarantee anything.

Roy can go 8, leave a game 1-1 and then they lose in the ninth. Or he can get hit hard, or whatever else. Point being, it's all unknown.

My only point in this thread is that trading two plus SP prospects like that is a little much. Trading Drabek and some others seems very reasonable.

do you really want to run down a list of young studs who never quite got to the level that was expected of them?

Not saying he won't, and he's definitely an impressive pitcher, but your assuredness is a little misplaced.

Apparently from what I can gather is that Toronto is asking for Drabek, Happ, and one more piece, and the negotiations are going from there. I think Philly will avoid giving up Happ in the deal unless that would be an absolute deal breaker, and then they have a tough decision to make.

Wonder if you could throw this deal at Cleveland (minus Happ) and get Lee.

Lee, Hamels, Happ?

but your percentages increase when u get him...I know anything can happen but you have to give your roster the best chance to win.

I understand you dont want to give up a lot but we just have a different philoshy (most baseball GM's agree with you). But I would do whatever it takes to win a championship when you can.. The opportunity doesnt always come and when its there u have to seize the moment.

I'm sure Cleveland would love to get Drabek for Lee. Halladay is clearly going to be the first domino (whether he gets traded or they announce they will keep him until the offseason) and it will be interesting to see how fast guys like Lee, Washburn and Bedard get dealt after the Halladay situation is settled.

Agree..U have to not watch baseball to gurantte Kershaw will win a Cy Young..U know how many good to great pitchers never won a cy young.

Also let me kno when Tim Lincecum is ready to give up that award.
