Most NBA coaches realize that answering reporters questions is part of their job even if they don't like it. This especially applies to nationally broadcast games like the one's Sager covers. There are ways to answering questions without the attitude. You think Sager likes interviewing Popovich whe he knows he's going to get disrespectful answers? Sager has a job to do too.

There's a reason Pop is the only person Sager called out by name in his tweet announcing his illness. Both men have immense respect for each other, and Pop's curmudgeonly interviews are as much of a schtick as Sager's gaudy outfits. They give each other a hard time, but also have a genuine working relationship.

You really have to be reaching to find a way to make Pop out to be the bad guy in all of this. I know I'm a Spurs fan but got dayum, percy

I actually have no clue. He seemed rather poised (like father like son I suppose), but idk if that's his profession.

Dude looks like Clay Matthews

Sager is not the only reporter that Popovich answers that way, so it's more than just a playful act he puts on with Sager. He gives disrespectful answers at most of his post-game press conferencess especially when he loses.

No shite. It's an act he puts on with everyone. It's not even really a secret. To a man, folks love the dude who interact with him. Only time journalists have to watch their asses is when they ask inane questions (which sports reporters do on a routine basis).

I'm glad that you dislike Pop though. Guess some fools still believe that schtick

He doesn't like interviews, your point?

I believe there was just a football player this past superbowl that is s a total a-hole to reporters, but is a genuinely good person.

All because Pop is a total a-hole in regards to interviews/reporters, that doesn't mean he is a dick of a person.

Reach more though and I fricking hate the spurs and their sustained success. They need to just retire.

I suspect Pop and Tim Duncan will hang it up together.

So his schtick is being a dick, so that makes him cool? The guy is a pompous prick. He's an awesome coach, but still a prick. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Pops is actually well liked among the media. But you just go on believing what you want to believe.

Sideline interviews are completely useless. Pop knows this but is obligated to do them every night.

Seeing how classy Pop was there, it makes me think that he's just trolling the shite out of the fans trying to get the NBA twitter trending.

He goes out of his way to piss percy off.

I'm surprised he hasn't said "This one's for you percy."

That was awesome.

Is Craig Sager's son taking over for his dad? Because he's freaking terrible.

Did you poll the San Antonio media? Yeah, I'm sure they LOVE those post-game press-conferences.

I love it. You actually hate Pop. This is awesome.

Thanks for that. Thought you were trolling for a hot minute

I don't have to deal with him so I dn't hate him. I've just seen him act like a prick on tv many times. I thought what he did with Sager Jr. was nice but for people to act like he's the Pope now is ridiculous.
