Too bad the strike zone wasn't four feet wide like it was in 97

Livan Hernandez was the beneficiary of the wide strike zone in 1997, except it was closer to 6 feet

Announcers would say that's a Maddox pitch. It would be so far outside there was no way to hit the ball!

Maddux was an average post-season pitcher.

Erik Gregg had paper on that game

This. Not only has the zone seemed to really shrink every post-season game this year.
But back when the Braves were rolling with their pitchers the catcher could set up 2 feet off the plate and as long as Greg hit the target - it was called a strike. Bats couldn't even reach the pitch they were so off the plate...but hey, as long as they were the perfect height and the catcher framed the pitch.
