He's not a role player in any way. He is a centerpiece for a good team. Put 2-3 players at his level together and you have a contender to lose to GS

Adding Hayward is a really big move. That and a healthy IT healthy will make the Celts a massive threat.

Did we watch the same playoff series?

The Celtics stood zero chance even with IT. How is adding Hayward (who essentially has Love Minnesota numbers with a lot more help) and a rookie a massive threat to the Cavs?

from a basketball standpoint this really doesn't do much honestly it's just fun to talk about.

they already had a scorer in IT and they were 8th in Offensive rating last year. he'll def improve them but that's not their problem. their problem is lack of interior defense and rebounding. he doesn't do anything for that.

Hayward is taller than all of the Celtics wing defenders, better defender than all except for Bradley, though Crowder is solid. Hayward also stretches the floor.

Ainge knows LeBron is leaving Cleveland after next season and heading to LA.

Celtics will win the East like 3 straight years after that.

correct. we have bitched about rebounding and rim protection all year. but remember CBS plays a spacing game so offensive rebounds are few and far between. hell we are bad on defensive rebounding and giving up second chances. we still need a PF next to big Al.

but make no mistake GH will help especially when IT is on the bench. tatum can play some 4 and jaylen brown at the 2 while GH at the 3. we have to dump salary now. Ko is gone. we will see who out of bradley or crowder or smart goes next
