That's a good point.
"Every game is so important!"
Until you've lost a couple. Then the games don't mean shite.

I go to a Falcons game every year. The college atmosphere is better.
I think we've found the problem.

So you'll continue watching LSU after they've lost their 3rd game, essentially putting them out of SEC and Natty title contention?
The regular season essentially means nothing in college football after you've lost 2-3 games. You're season is done.
I won't stop watching my team, but the general public will. Unless LSU is playing a contender. The whole country will tune into contenders, big rivalries, and heisman candidates. In the NFL how many people around the country tuned in to watch the falcons last year? It also sucks when the games you want to watch in the NFL are usually going on at the same time.

1. More passionate fans
2. No Roger Goodell BS
3. No draws
4. More diversity in offenses (4 times as many teams helps)
5. Recruiting

#1 is false. Other points are fair.

Recruiting isn't a positive imo

Yeah, I guess college football fans are more passionate in a (mostly) good way, without being low-class criminally obnoxious like NFL fans can be.
Another plus for college is watching a stud freshman for the 1st time that is instantly obvious will become a future 1st round pick in the NFL.
I love the NFL but (for me) there is no question that college football has many more attributes that make it clearly above the NFL for overall fan interest. Although I can sort of see how some people without any college connections have difficulty caring about it.

It's still not as good as any SEC or southern ACC tailgate even if you're in the green lot.
You stand around in a huge parking lot with a bunch of middle aged losers in jerseys, and it's usually cold. The FedEx Field scene is a bad scene imo. Landover sucks. It would be a lot better crowd if the stadium was smaller and in VA.

I'm sure Green Bay has decent tailgating because it feels like a college town. Every other NFL team is stuck in a big city so there are only designated areas people are allowed to tailgate in. Houston's is really lame.

Then you are a fan of a school that has a crappy history, no hard core rivalry and no marquee games that define a season - if that's the case. I doubt most LSU fans feel that way.
The so-called playoffs have weakened the season for some fans - but that's just a pitiful championship or bust attitude...and for what?
STILL MYTHICAL! Still is...still a vote for the top 4 just like the old mythical BCS title. Still sportswriters and random people voting.
As long as everything is a vote and not automatic qualifying by winning something during the season (your conference for example, hello Alabama) - it will always be mythical.
Point is, there was never this UBER emphasis on declaring a god-damn champion in CFB...some teams got voted #1 by sportswriters but it wasn't the fricking focus of the season because you couldn't control the vote - you couldn't control anything but win - and even if you won all your games, you still might not get voted champ - as Penn State found out 5 times...getting passed over by 1-loss teams because Texas football was so much better. (see it's always been politics and perception and bullshite and politicking.)
But fans used to really just care about beating their rivals, their main rivals, maybe going to a great New Years day bowl game.
I don't think Penn State fans felt like it was a waste to make it to the Rose Bowl after losing two games...or USC after losing 3 games.
The big bowls and beating your rivals...Penn State beating Ohio State - those things still matter unless you're totally jaded.

I mean if you're a school like A&M that doesn't have a rival or any real big time game, why should I really care after we lose or 2nd or 3rd game? The regular season meaning everything is fun when you're good, but it makes it meaningless when you aren't
