Hate it for Cole, doesn’t make me sad for Yankees fans and media 95% of the time, we all know what this means.

Isn’t this the guy who’s unhittable but injured every year?

frick the Yankees. They will suck this year. Especially when Judge misses 45 games due to injury

Yankees say it’s just precautionary but who knows

They’d be so fricked. He’s been the one constant for them over the last few seasons

Wonder if they’d go try and sign Snell

They will definitely panic buy Snell or Montgomery (probably Montgomery) if he needs TJ. That rotation is going to be rough if he’s out for a year and a half

The Yankees have been on Snell regardless. So I don't see panic being the motivation here. But Montgomery also gives you the innings. He's just overpriced as an elite pitcher.

The wording the Yankees used doesn’t sound terribly serious apart from the very idea their star pitcher is having an elbow MRI. But they're describing it as a discomfort, not pain and not bouncing back as normal with a higher workload. So he's able throw but ramping it up past a certain pitch count he's fatigued afterwards it sounds like.

I'd guess some inflammation and he'll be rested a few weeks and miss the start of the season while he tries to ramp up the workload again.

Always loved Gerrit Cole, whether he was an Astro or a Yankee. This absolutely sucks and is bad for baseball is it's anything serious.

I'm changing my mind on Cole. I think he's out long term. Yankees are saying they won't have anything on Cole for several days "until everybody weighs in". Additionally they've made a trade offer for Dylan Cease. Starting to sound like it's bad news on Cole, he's getting second opinions and they're looking for a long term replacement.
