Courtney Upshaw stayed last year for the 2nd round. I think he had a better idea he would go early that round though.

Perception that he's running home to cry about it. Teams don't want a QB that runs when times get tough
No one would blame him if he cried all the way home but tomorrow night he needs to have his butt in the Green Room at Radio City and put on a good face for the camera

So in your mind after the combine drills, interviews, wonderlic test, and countless hours of scouting on tape and in person, NFL teams are going to decide to draft him or not based on his presence at the draft?

Thankfully teams don't give in to this weak as shite. If you want Geno to or row, whether he stayed in the green room or not is irrelevant.

Jacksonville tomorrow night right away. And they get a steal.
shite man i hope not. Blaine isn't the answer but, neither is this clown. Hell there is no answer at QB in this class.

There's a reason we're discussing Smith returning for the next day of the draft and teams are paying close attention to his actions. There's plenty of changes being made to draft boards right now and Smith throwing a tantrum could Definently impact his status

To clarify, he is college talented..(so was Jay Barker and Gino Toretta), but not NFL calibur.

His talent is the reason. Whether he shows up that day or not is irrelevant. I'm not saying he ever was a 1st round guy, but showing up to be in the green room has no effect on his draft stock. The #14 pick was sitting on his couch in a t-shirt when he got picked.

I'm not arguing any of this but I can see a team dropping him lower or drafting a similarly rated QB ahead of him based on how he handles this
All he has to do is suck it up for 1 night and everybody will love him for it and say this is going to motivate him to do great things, chip on his shoulder, blah, blah, blah
*Its like taking a bad report card home, you know the arse whopping is coming you just had to brace yourself and try not to cry like a bitch

If I was in his shoes, I'd say frick it and be there tomorrow. He's going to be drafted into the fricking NFL. Not many people can say that. Live it up

He's a great natural athlete, but not a field general

He is very overrated and the media was sucking his knob all year. Zero leadership, zero heart....got what was coming to him. He is the next Akili Smith and finally these scouts figured it out!!

His pouting with his head in his hand reminded me of Cam Newton on the sidelines of Carolina pouting with the towel over his head. Except Gino has only half the talent of Cam. You want a QB that can handle adversity and instill confidence in his teammates, not one who pouts when the going gets tough.

Wonder if that will hurt his status even for Round 2
I sincerely doubt it
If you like him as a QB you like him as a QB. I don't see why anyone would change their opinion one way or another over this decision.
