thats basically how it is taking, QB's some teams might see it as a steal in round 2

If you aren't getting drafted in the top 12 or so you should not be there....I dont like they let EVERYONE come now a days...

What it was on pick 29 last night and they had some guy go up there...give me a break..

Well yea, because clearly you have just as much at stake as he does.

I wouldn't go either. Had to suck to sit there for four hours and go home without getting called.

As disappointed as he is, he also needs to realize that whatever team drafts him in the 2nd (or even 3rd round) got better by letting him slide and drafting him later. If he goes to the Jags, he goes to a team that'll have a LT anchoring the OL for the entirety of his career in Luke Joeckel. Same thing if he goes to the Eagles with Lane Johnson.

He's likely going to get drafted by a team that just shored up his backside for his entire career. He won't see that now (or maybe not for several years). But if he is successful in the NFL with one of those teams, he's going to be very thankful they were able to land a great LT to keep his back clean for his entire career.

He's a dumbass for attending in the first place.
Unless I was a sure fire top 10-15 pick I wouldn't go. No reason to risk that embarrassment. I mean what's in it for the player.

His pouting with his head in his hand reminded me of Cam Newton on the sidelines of Carolina pouting with the towel over his head. Except Gino has only half the talent of Cam. You want a QB that can handle adversity and instill confidence in his teammates, not one who pouts when the going gets tough.

On the field, man, on the field. This kind of draft-day BS drama is not normal adversity.

It's probably a good thing the Packers didn't pass on Aaron Rodgers just because he was virtually in tears that he had slipped to the late first round.

Hmm...

Does Geno "fit" the Eagles? I thought EJ was a better fit (thought 2nd round though...still a good player).

Could be a good thing to sit a year behind Vick (or well..8 games)

The Jaguars are actually putting solid pieces on there team as well.

If goes to the Jets.....

Florio trolling Geno hard
quote:

Smith doesn’t return, he’ll be confirming in the minds of many that he can’t show grit and resolve under pressure. That he’ll sink his head and slump his shoulders when the team is 14 points behind in the third quarter. That he’ll pout if he’s not the starter or if he gets benched. That he’ll complain about the use of too many running plays when he prefers to air it out

quote:

There’s still a decent chance Geno will be a top-five pick in round two. If he doesn’t return to the draft on Friday night, interested teams could opt for one of the other quarterbacks instead.

Geno no go

If Kelly's system is anything at all like at Oregon I would think EJ is the better fit.

I know everyone has a hard on for read-option QBs, but that is just not Geno. Yeah he's got wheels, but he can't make people miss to save his life, dude tends to fumble when he gets popped, and he doesn't seem to know what to do to protect himself (as a runner) when contact is imminent.

But yeah, sitting for a year or two would be the best possible thing for Geno. For his sake, please God not the Jets....

Philly, AZ, NYJ, Oakland and maybe SD could all be making the play.

Well that's just not factual if you watched any WVU football before Holgorsen was hired.

I don't get the "I don't blame him" crowd. He's still going to be drafted and make a shite ton of money doing what he loves to do (and have an opportunity in a few years to make millions more), so why not suck it up and realize that plenty of other draftees have been in your situation before?

Sorry Geno, the billions of us around the world that also weren't selected in the 1st round last night share your pain.

He changed his mind?

Can't have an indecisive quarterback.
