It does but even then I don't think it's enough. Those are really bad schedules for hopes of a playoff appearances. Honestly don't think the playoff is even involved in their thinking. It's all about money and trying to remain competitive in recruiting. Oregon may not play a team with fewer than 2 losses, in 7 games. Let that sink in.

All I see is a bunch of shitty logos on that image

They're gonna put Oregon in the top 10 as soon as the polls allow it, so yeah, I mean they'll be in the discussion with 6-7 games.
I know Oregon was high in the preseason poll, but they don't have a proven QB, and their star LT opted out.

Pac10 always played everyone in Conference (Round Robin)
not true. They didn’t add the 9th conference game until well after they expanded to 12
Opposite.
This an ESPN article from 2009.

So the Pac-10 should end round-robin scheduling, a practice that only insures the conference suffers five additional losses a season, which hurts national rankings and strength of schedule ratings, which then combines to hurt the conference in the BCS standings.
If the Pac-10 tossed away a ninth conference game, then it could add another (cupcake) nonconference game, like other BCS conferences do who schedule rankings.
Pac10 was always at a disadvantage because they played two less rent-wins a year than the Big10 or SEC (who always has been the biggest offender in avoiding most of the Conference)
A Pac10 team literally had to play everyone in the Conference, like if Bama had to play the SEC East and the SEC West...and not The Citadel, Troy, Louisiana-Monroe and Savannah State and then only 6 SEC games.
So if the PAC is only going to play 6 Conference games and be rewarded for it, frick it. Other Conferences have been doing it for far too long.

Reminds me of a kid's Optimist League football schedule the area league would post.

being where they are, i assume at least 1 if not 2 weeks will be postponed due to COVID. I wonder how week7 shakes out for that. I'm glad they are doing something so kids with a potential pro career get to show their stuff just a bit.

They only play 1 more conference game per year than the SEC so it's not really that big a deal. Considering that a few teams in the PAC are essentially group of 5 schools does it really make a difference they play 1 more? That's truly what they play "extra" every year because they still play their cupcakes to start the year like everyone else.
A team from out there is going to have to blow the doors off everyone to make the playoff if they even complete the season. Don't think it's going to happen. Their only hope is that USC goes unbeaten by beating an unbeaten Oregon and using the media's fawning to help their cause.

There is no way you can justify putting Oregon or USC in with this schedule
Oregon plays:
Stanford
Wash St
UCLA
Oregon St
Cal
Wash
USC plays:
Ariz St
Ariz
Utah
Colorado
Wash St
UCLA

What a clown conference

PAC-12 school presidents have to be pissed off right now.

Such a joke of a schedule. No one deserves a spot with any of those schedules.

Only way a PAC 12 team gets in is if they beat every opponent by 2 tds or more or complete chaos occurs in the sec, big 10 and acc

USC really with some barn burners there

That Shough kid is supposed to be pretty good and Mario has recruited really well on the offensive line.
Plus they get a really easy start to the schedule. UW is the last game of the season. By then they should have built up chemistry and reps.

It looks like they tried to set up a Oregon/USC matchup at the end.
They tried to set up undefeated Oregon vs undefeated UW in the final regular season matchup and then undefeated Oregon vs undefeated USC in the conf title game.
Two back to back top 10 matchups to get Oregon into the playoff? We'll see if it works.

Wow. Rumlin about to go 0-6.

I will still gladly take seven weeks of “Sark after Dark” versus the alternative of none.
Do we think all non-playoff bowl games will be pushed back (I.e. will we be able to slot in someone from the PAC-12 for the Alamo Bowl on December 29th)?

So it’s divisions with:
Arizona v Washington
ASU v Cal
Colorado v Stanford
Oregon v UCLA
Oregon State v Utah
USC v Wash St
Why even play cross-division if you aren’t going to have a good matchup?
