That was a damn good shot. Been all over my kids I coach that loooove to go bar down but end up clanging it off the glass that a shot just above the pad when the goalie goes down in the butterfly is a great shot.

Both of these teams would get clowned by the AAU D3 champion Florida Gators.

We have a hockey team? Lol

BM thanks for picking up the slack
I did start the thread last year and maybe the year before but I casually follow the tourney as I kind of got into hockey while at Cornell… but not nearly as close as basketball and football.
Tough loss for UM, but since 98 that’s been the case many years.
I think since 2000 Michigan has made it to the frozen four 10 times and lost 5 in OT, while losing by 1 goal in regulation in 3 other games and only losing two games decisively (against BU/BC in 2018 and Notre Dame a few years ago I believe)
They’ve only advanced past the semis in 2011 to lose to Duluth in OT.
Michigan had been tied for having the most titles until Denver won it 2 years ago

I saw a summary of a podcast on the mgoblog site the other day and one of the bullet points was that the site owner said there is nothing that distinguishes this team from every other that lost in this round.
He knew what was coming.

Michigan is also pretty solid at lacrosse

Can confirm that Denver is good at lacrosse. Denver, Utah, and air force are the only western schools that are in D1 I believe.

I’d say the one team that stood out is 2021 when they had Owen Power
They had 4 of the top 5 NHL draft picks that year and lost in the semis

It tickles me that St. Louis will have two programs at this level beginning next season and the state of Illinois will have none. Particularly Chicago.

AAU club hockey.

Championship game. A Hockey East 2-for-1 on the officiating - Curtin and Murphy are a terrible, horrible pair. Maybe they'll play it safe since it's not a conference game.

I never really think of Denver (the school) as being known for much else other than their hockey program, but their men's lacrosse and soccer have had success in recent years, I learned.
I drive through/past campus today. There was a LAX game and of course hockey. 4 hours ago there were lines out the door at all the bars.

Is Denver rolling again? I haven’t paid a lick of attention
Them Maine and North Dakota are the teams that I try to casually follow

I just turned it on after getting back from running around a bit. Badgers are up 1-0 after one.

Badgers dominating play 1st half of this game. Only up 1 however.
Yes southerners college hockey is big at certain schools. Wisconsin can average over 10k in good seasons with the men and have a dynasty in their women's program that sells out their own arena and routinely wins nattys.
Friday and Saturday night home series hockey games are a Madison tradition.

Denver is getting shut down
Only 5 SOG thru two periods is not great

Looked like they did bring a little heat at the end of the second.
