Jackets beat Pittsburgh 5-3 and win the season series 3-1. 9 wins in a row. New franchise record.

I only got to watch the first two periods of the Columbus-Pens game...but the way Columbus turned on in the last 5 minutes of the 2nd period was scary.

Foligno is getting scary good.

Go Lightning !!!!
Hopefully they can get back to playing good Hockey come playoff time. The Lightning happen to be playing their worst hockey of the year at the worst time, but hopefully getting rested legs this next week will help them recharge. This busy road trip has been brutal on them.....

What a playoff race
Hockey is the best

It's not a coincidence the Jackets have played really good hockey in their 2 healthiest stretches of the season. They went 10-1 in December when the injuries slowed down a bit.

They need to address their blue line in the offseason. It's absolute bullshite Mike Reilly is going to spurn them and sign with someone else coming out of Minnesota. Totally negates the purpose of having a draft.

I really could see either Detroit or Pittsburgh missing out on the playoffs. Both have been banged up and/or playing like dogshit. Ottawa has been playing good hockey and even have a head to head game with the Pens

The penguins are just depleted at this point. They haven't had the number of mangames missed as Columbus to be sure, but they're losing guys at seemingly the worst possible time. Hard to finish well when you lose Letang, Malkin, and Hornqvist for significant time here lately, and end up playing w/ 5 defensemen for several games due to the limitations around the salary cap this late.

It just takes a cumulative toll, and they look gassed.

Pens are done, Sens should take their spot in the postseason, at least they have a chance with how they're playing.

There is nothing the Pens can do without Letang at this stage of the season, they could not lose him and they did. Between Letang, Ehrhoff, and Maatta 3 of the Pens top 4 Dmen at the start of the season are gone. How did they manage to be a Top 5 defensive team this season? Letang.

Ehrhoff was the signing of the offseason, a steal, and he has been injured half the year and poor overall. Was very bad the first few months in new system then started to play really well, concussion, been out 2 months now who knows when he'll return if he does. He's been day to day for 2 weeks now, if he returns he can at least help replace Letang some.

It's whatever though. Worst part of it is how incredible Sidney Crosby is playing right now, and it will be wasted. Same goes for Fleury's best season of his career.

Sens and Pens both have a game in hand over the Caps too.

Red Wings just 1 point ahead of the Sens now for that 8th spot.

Happy to get a point. Caps took the gas pipe in the 1st period and fell down 3-0. Just forcing OT was a win. Now, even if the Caps lose their final three in regulation, Sens have to earn 6 points in 4 games to catch them.

Tomorrow will tell the tale. Play the Wings, and the winner is virtually in. The loser starts to get nervous, and starts praying that the Pens and Sens don't play a 3-point game on Tuesday. It would be nice if either the Pens or the Sens lost on Sunday as well. Then we'll know who to root for.

Penguins lack of depth kills them again. It's just not a well-constructed roster. Not being able to call up a guy due to being at the cap is just negligent mismanagement of the cap. Rookie GM mistake.
