They lost 1 game on the road to Florida St who finished the regular season ranked #2. They finished #3* and got screwed out of the Sugar Bowl vs #1 UGA for Notre Dame because back then the size of the fanbase that would travel took precedent over better matchups

Agreed, no way Notre Dame should’ve gotten that bid over them

In an ironic twist, Pitt DID go to the Sugar Bowl the next year and beat Georgia lol

Dan frickin' Marino is behind noodle arm Brees?

At one point Brees had five seasons with 5000+ yards. All other quarterbacks in the entire history of the NFL had just four.

I’m just saying Montana took a beating in the 80s-90s. I don’t believe Brees would have had an 18 year career in that era.

Fair enough, opinions differ.

I’d go
Brady
Montana
Manning
Rodgers
Marino
Brees
Unitas
Elway
Staubach
Mahomes

Now Mahomes is only 7 years in and will shoot past a lot of these guys in time.

70s Bradshaw
80s Montana
90s Elway/Kelly/Aikman
00s Brady
10s Brady
20s Brady/Mahomes

Ill Ride with Bradshaw/Montana or Brady all day. 15 rings if im not mistaken between them. Stats whatever , these guys were legit soldiers on the field.

Manning in the 2000s > Brady

The indy teams were arse. Brady defense carried him majority of thay decade.

Brady became Brady in the later 2000s til retirement.

Idk not ok with Bradshaw on this list. Those steeler teams were loaded in the 70’s.

Everything you’re saying about Marino also applies to Peyton…

Marino is overrated

Your post is a joke. Marino was like taking a Brees, Rodgers, Brady, Manning led team in the 2009ish years in a time machine to 1984.

Nobody was doing what Marino could. It only took decades and rule changes to even get to that point.

Marino would be first if I'm building a team. His arm talent is and was unmatched.

I think making lists like this are meaningless because of the numerous NFL rule changes over the last 50 years to change the nature of the game.

The only real problem I have with that list is Bradshaw. His stats are very average without the Super Bowls. I would put Big Ben on the list before Bradshaw.

Fukin noodle arm Montana is way too high. He was just a Walsh puppet no better than Purty now.

Bradshaw = 4 titles in the 70s.

I go with production. Winners.

Im not picking volume qbs. Title winners. Competitors. Leaders.

This isn't basketball.

Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl.

Bradshaw was never considered elite in his day like Captain America (Staubach).

Maybe if Marino had the Steel Curtain, he'd have 7 Super Bowl Titles. Him being ranked behind Brees is absurd to anyone that watched both.

Rodgers had insane arm talent but he only had ONE good run in the playoffs for his one SB win. He choked a lot in the playoffs, has 12 playoff wins which is good but should be a lot higher.
