It's the dnf's that kill you.

Said there were 400k people there this weekend vs maybe 280k 2018? That’s wild.
If a mass transit rail were installed going there from several large parking locations to avoid the 2.5 hours to get out of there, or shuttle busses, they could attract 500,000+ with the addition of more bleachers out near turns 8, 9 and 10.

THey need to widen the two roads that get you out of COTA to at least 3 lanes so they can do a 2 lane contra-flow and 1 lane coming back for the shuttle buses. they have a bigger crowd now that probably any football stadium in the country but are serviced by roads that probably don't get 1,000 cars on them during a normal weekday.

I can only imagine the toll driving an F1 car takes on the body. Even when it's not hot out the drivers usually look completely spent after the race.

I bet it is as much mental as physical. I am amazed at all the thoughts those guys can process while under full speed in a race.

Just look at the steering "pad" wheel. I can barely manage to use an XBox controller!

Maybe Elon Musk will like it so much he'll build a battery operated rail system from their new Tesla plant to there and have a huge parking lot for multi-use.

This was pretty dang funny-

But they missed the part a little before when Martin first saw the bodyguard and blurted out, "That's a big bloke".

Can you either delete your last two posts or fix/learn how to link on TD?

Which track is best for Hamilton to take the penalty at? I honestly don't know which of the last 5 allow for the best overtaking.

Forgot to ask, for those that were there was anyone else quite annoyed that the broadcast screens didn't show timing intervals? Our seats (T12 Sec.2) had a video board close by and the broadcast was the same coverage that usually gets shown on TV but they never once put up timing gaps except for a couple times showing the gap between Max & Lewis. Watching a gap build or fall is some of the exciting stuff but we kept having to guess. That was really my only complaint of the experience.

used the stopwatch on my phone to time the gap each time around. was getting really nervous when he was taking .5 seconds off per lap 5 laps in a row.

If he had to take a penalty. Which isn't guaranteed.

RBR should be able to take next week at Mexico, Brazil might set up better for Merc.

Our complaint, too.

Also, having the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders there was very cringe. Completely out of place and sort of a "WTF - this not the pro football crowd."

Cowboys cheerleaders have been there pretty much every race. Part of Texas I guess.

It seems like UT band has done the national anthem a few times as well

To be fair, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders are world renowned.

They should bring back Grid Girls, though.

100% THIS! I mean, if ceasing sexual objectification is the goal, then why even have the Cowboys cheerleaders? And if sexual objectification is okay enough to bring on the Cowboys cheerleaders, then why continue to block team sponsors from having grid girls? It's hypocritical.
