In other F1-adjacent news...
Nico Hülkenberg is going to test an IndyCar for the McLaren SP team at Barber Motorsports Park. McLaren wants to run a 3rd full-time car but I don't think anything is settled for next year. My guess is that Romain Grosjean's success and the exuberance he's shown this year made Hülkenberg start thinking about it.

I always wondered why Hülkenberg didn't consider it earlier. His legacy in F1 is that he may be the greatest F1 driver in history to never be on a podium...
Also, F2 driver Christian Lundgaard got signed by Rahal Letterman Lanigan to replace Takuma Sato in the #30 car, with a "multi-year" contract. My guess is that it includes an agreement with Alpine that he can leave early if Alpine wants to put him in an F1 seat.
This year Lundgaard had a one-off drive with RLL at the Indianapolis road course, where he qualified P4, much higher than RLL's two regular drivers (Graham Rahal and Takuma Sato). Lundgaard finished P12 in the race (both Rahal and Sato finished ahead of him), which I assume is because of his inexperience with the Firestone tires, but everyone was suitably impressed with his performance. I wanted RLL to give him another drive near the end of the season (Oliver Askew was given the 3rd seat for the last three races), but it looks like that one race was enough.

Anyone know the situation with private parking at COTA? Will there be enough open land that we can park in the morning?
A lot of the locals open up their land for paid parking.
parked here a few years ago
Think they were charging $30-50 to park I believe.

Acura is such a failed brand. People talk about Lexus as a German luxury brand alternative, but Acura is not really in the conversation. I think they'd be better off keeping Honda on the car.
Edit: And no one is buying the Acura NSX.

He has said several times how he doesn't like the DTS portrayal of him. Said it makes him look like the villian.
Hopefully this doesn't start a chain reaction. Despite some of the negatives, DTS has really helped grow the sport.

This move won’t help him change that perception.

Umm immensely.
Each of the drivers should be handing over a % of their paycheck to Netflix. Not saying that F1 was struggling before, but that show has set them up for YEARS. Lots of new eyes and $$$.

It’s not the complete reason I got into F1 but season 1 elevated my interest in the sport.

Is he talking about next year? They are pretty far along this year.

He may just opt out of the 1:1 sit downs with them...I would think that racing footage and anything public he has said to official F1 media would be fair game.

Pretty much. Merc and RBR didn't really participate in Season 1. They were included, but the interviews are not really there.

I'm fine with that. IMO, the best eps were the ones that focused on the mid-tier teams.

That’s true, but I really want to see how Max reacted during that 2-3 race span where Merc screwed him.

Danny Ric going to sport an Earnhardt-inspired helmet this weekend. It’s incredible.

Bottas taking a new engine... Saying it will be likely that Hamilton will have to within the next few races too.
Come on RB, take the constructors.

Merc must be doing some crazy shite to his engines. Whatever upgrade, if any; Lewis gets will be based on data from Bottas.
