Oooohhhh my stomach about to fall out my arse

Also, O'ward was at Mclaren all week and it looks like he did a seat fitting. I'm guessing he will get to do a test drive on a car in Mexico maybe? They had said Abu Dhabi originally, but if the test is in Mexico I wonder what car they bring for him to try.

Lot of people in Dallas for Red Bull

There’s a Ferrari fan here in the middle getting harassed.

GPFans

quote:

A spokesperson for Mercedes informed GPFans: “Petronas and Mercedes have been partners since 2010 in a collaborative long-term relationship that is mutually beneficial to both parties.

"Last year, we extended our partnership for another multi-year cycle and we are proud to continue to be working together to deliver cutting-edge performance.”

Though that might be the equivalent of "He is our head coach and is doing well"

looks like we got a little controversy brewing

With Aramco dumping all kinds of advertising $$$ in the sport and INEOS thworing $2 billion to partner with them, it's one hell of an optic

Real question is how does Lewis's new found anti-petrol/climate activist stance balance with this news... I think we know the answer

Made it over a week during this break before we will devolve into a Lewis hate thread.

I can't wait until the Saudi race to see if any of the drivers have some sort of "protest" or message prerace.

Cant really say I hate the guy.... but more to my point and to yours as well, the hypocrisy that surrounds this whole series is astounding to watch and makes for great conversation

Without a doubt. The morals of the series have been bankrupt for years. Bernie would have told all the "We Care" shite to frick off though.

But that might be part of why the series struggled to gain an audience for years.

Surprised the Seb Autobahn statement didn't grab more traction either.

Headed to Austin Thursday. Any advice for a first timer for the weekend? Will be out there every day.

Was going to go, but selling my tickets now.

Friends backed out and the whole first time and not knowing parking/shuttle/etc.. bs just doesn't make it worth it for me.

Will double my money by selling. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Give yourself plenty of time. There is lots of entertainment things at the track, so getting their early isn't an issue.

Bring sunscreen. Lots of sunscreen.

You should be able to get on the front straight after the race. Covid stuff may change that.

You won't need earplugs for the race, but not sure on the NASCAR demo thing. Shouldn't last long so if you forget it isn't a big deal, but one of those things that I have seen people wear while there.

Prepare for traffic afterwards, so if you don't catch much it is a pleasant surprise.

I'm doing GA for Sat/Sun this year. My sort of plan is the infield for Saturday and then get there early Sunday and try to sit on Turn 1.

Thats one place I messed up. Should have bought a parking pass.

See the shuttle is $40 each way. So I'd end up paying $240 in shuttle costs alone for the weekend, not to mention all the other jazz.

So ends up likely being close 750 after everything for me to attend by myself.

I think we are nearing 3k for two of us and we tried to go cheap on the hotels and such. Last minute planning got expensive.

Usually hotel rooms downtown are around $350/night during the event. We did last minute, but couldn't find much under $1k for 2 nights where we usually stay.

What sucks is we passed on an opportunity for a free lake house because we couldn't commit until last minute. Oh well, maybe next year.

Hope uber isn't screwy for getting around Austin or else shite will get even more expensive.

My girl is a big F1 fan so she doesn't mind spending on these trips. One day I will splurge for the paddock passes and live like Obtuse1 for a day.

It is exciting how popular the event has become even if it has doubled in cost. Makes me nervous about Miami next year.

This is only the 3rd one. Had everything set for Canada in 2019 then covid happened.

There is a subreddit r/grandprixtravel that is small, but has good info for people traveling
