Guessing Hamilton had some decent damage today. They ever say what happened?

I'd guess floor damage from that yellow curb on turn 1, but I never heard anything official either.

I enjoy F1. The cars are amazing, the road courses are good, and the global aspect of the sport is awesome. But the races are getting boring if only two drivers have any reasonable chance of winning each race. Races have become nothing but wondering if Max or Lewis will screw up.

Getting boring? It’s been way worse the last few years. It’s better than knowing and watching Lewis Hamilton run away with every race. If you’re just watching the leaders I think you’re going to have a bad time. I think you have to enjoy the midfield battles and race strategies if you don’t want boring races every week

How is verstappen’s dominance this year any different from Hamilton’s previously? If not for a blown tire he would be at 5 consecutive victories, and he hasn’t even been challenged in the last 3.

It was more fun when Hamilton was running closer to Verstappen.
Overall, the racing has gotten better over the last few seasons. The competition in the midfield today was fun.

I don’t know what to think of Perez. I means he’s better than Alex Albon but not sure he’s better than Pierre at this point. He’s not a bad driver at all. Top 10. But maybe not top 5. Regardless. He’s good enough for Max to win it all.
Running 3rd in the drivers championship behind Max and Lewis. He handles the pressure well, although his emotions seemed to get the best of him today. He does what RBR needs him to do. I hope he signs an extension. I like Gasly, and he is likely the longer term solution, but let Checo protect Max for a couple of years.

Where do people fall on Sainz and Leclerc?
Who do you think is the better driver?

GTFO. This season has been awesome so far. Both at the top and in the midfield.

Seeing someone else win a championship for the first time in years is better.
And the midfield is better than it’s been in years. The only thing missing is Ferrari.

He’s a second row on grid type driver. Fast, scrappy and passionate but ultimately just a shade off the front row pace. For the role he’s expected to play I think he’s perfect for RB.

Lol this year is not even comparable to years past.
Used to be the only person who had a chance to beat Lewis was Bottas but Mercedes wouldn't even let them race. It was Mercedes 1/2 basically every race forever.

Sainz is my guy. I doubt there are many who will say he is more talented than LeClerc. I do think he is is an incredibly hard worker and does a good job of making the most of his opportunities.
LeClerc is extremely talented but can be wild on the track and causes a lot of his own problems

Through 9 races in 2021, verstappen is at 5 wins, 3 2nd, 1blown tire that changed a 6th win into dnf
Through 9 races in 2020, Hamilton was at 6 wins, 1 2nd, 1 4th, 1 7th
Through 9 races in 2019, Hamilton was at 6 wins, 2 2nd, 1 5th.
Not only is it very comparable, verstappen is objectively more dominant through this point in season if you’re willing to make the easy connection that a blown tire on lap 45/51 is the only reason he’s not at 6 wins right now.

This just isn’t true. Verstappen finished 9 points behind bottas in the standings last year despite having 5 dnf compared to bottas’ 1. That says pretty clearly that, when they both finished races, verstappen generally finished better. They both finished the year with 2 wins, 6 2nd, 3 3rd. Verstappen finished 1 race last year not on the podium. Bottas finished 5 races not on the podium.
It’s really amusing how much people’s hatred of Mercedes, and especially Hamilton, completely distorts their view of reality and prevents them from being objective.

Calm down.
He’s right. He’s talking about the last few years overall. Also looking at it more than just an individual level. A team level. Yeah. Max was good last year. But Albon was dogshit and he left Max to fight alone. What max accomplished was alone. This year RB are more a full team. Last year max would have an advantage and then Merc would pull an undercut and max had no one to help alleviate pressure.
So while you are technically correct, your looking in a bubble.
Merc and Ham ran away with it last year and it was boring as shite. In top of that no one challenged max for sec either.
Yeah RB may do as well but it’s still up in the air if Merc can get their shite together
This year is infinitely better than last year.
It helps we are taking about racing and not whether or not the Racing Point is a copy of a Merc or if the Ferraris will ever find pace again after their infractions.
