I have no way to verify this, but I was talking at lunch today with a Sulphur alum who said he told a player “your mother should have aborted you” or something along those lines. Again, don’t know if it’s true but the person I talked to has kids in high school and would be a person that would know.

That’s also what I’m hearing from my Sulphur friends. It allegedly goes way beyond the typical coach cursing at kids and calling them pussies and whatnot. Some of the people I know are still backing Coach Thomas and are calling for him to be reinstated, and others think he needed to go without delay.
Interestingly, a lot of folks are commenting about a certain administrator who was fired for inappropriate behavior and was later reinstated. They say there is a double standard. I missed all that drama but would love to know the back story on that one.

Sounds like no big deal to me. From the vibe of the comments I read, I thought he’d done something really bad. Adults having affairs? Meh. I can see how folks in Sulphur would get all spun up about that shite, though. I never would have suspected it to be Binky, anyway. I graduated with him, and he always seemed like a really good guy.
From what I am hearing, the now ex-coach pissed off a kid whose family is VERY well-connected in the Sulphur community and in the football program. Not sure if it is true or not since it is triple hearsay.
