Hope it has a happy ending.

Are these the worst uniforms in sports history BTW? Kelly green jerseys with black pants?

Didn't he get drafted in the middle rounds and such?

I know Peyton Manning was a big fan of his from the MP Academy

3 rd round pick by Cleveland. Pro career was short.
Actually had a couple 1000 yard seasons at Tulane IIRC with Shaun King throwing to him.

Dawson, David Butler, Pete Burks, Kennie Maryland, and Silas Payne were the last wave of great players to come out of Houma. The early 90s was the last time high school football was relevant in Terrebonne Parish.

Butler was the best, but Dawson was the fastest. I saw him many times. Thoughts go out to his friends and family.

Elijah McGuire put houma back map.. But yes, Dawson played when hs football was relevant here. Football at bourgeois such a joke.. Incredible talent, no coaching or commitment ...

Lsutigers1992.. From houma?

SO sad that you forgot about Phillip Livas from South Terrebonne. Dude was a star at Louisiana Tech. one of the best eva from Houma.

Not really "from" there, but I lived in the area in the 90s. I know a lot of people in prep sports from that era.

Eli McGuire didn't either, but he was mentioned before Livas in this thread.

Anyway football in Houma isn't what it used to be, but there are some bright spots every now and then. So sad to hear about JuJuan

That was a great Tulane team, and I appreciate Jujuan's contributions. I hope he is OK.

Just terrible. I wouldn't expect anything but the worst, unfortunately. It's trivial compared to life and death, but he was a great player and I'm glad I got to see him in the Liberty Bowl.

Damn that's sad to hear. He was one of the greats at Tulane.
One report I read said his family didn't know if he could swim or not.

Bump. His body was found late last night. Apparently he was being pulled behind the boat on a tube and fell off. He wasn't wearing a life jacket and didn't know how to swim.
