I heard different stories such as LSU wasn't happy about some of the inside info. about LSU that he let out on his radio show. I don't know if this is true or not.

THIS.

i was really surprised LSU allowed him to do a talk show outside of the guaranty circle for the competition ... they never liked that arrangement and found a spot to move away from him .. but i think he can mend some fences and land back on 104.5 ...

Yeah I had to LOL at that remark. Other than the softball interviews with his IRL lsu buddies, Jordy really brings nothing to the table.

In the few times I heard it back when he had the Hornets gig he seemed to revel in letting the callers know he'd just flown in from the Hornets game and with little sleep came in to do the show. The callers would all call in and say "I don't know how you do it Jordy." And Jordy would come back with the "aw shucks, just doing it cause I love it."

He is able to get interviews with some of my all-time favorite Tigers hoopsters like Macklin and E so I could at least thank him for that.

I can't agree with this. I listened to Jordy everyday on my ride to work. He got quality guests on a very regular basis. The others could not come close to him when it came to quality guests. His contacts go further just LSU.

If listing the day's celebrity birthdays and breaking down every question or topic with 'We'll have to see. We'll just have to see.' is what you dig, then I won't argue with you.

I remember that. I never heard why the Hornets canned him, if someone would enlighten us.

As for his show, he literally phoned it in on a regular basis. Especially during the Hornets days. I could just see him laying in a hotel room with a cell phone asking the board op 'who's next'.

Enough to know the drill and that I didn't like it. Why would I listen every morning to a show I hate?

If you like Jordy, that's cool. To each his own. I'm not going to argue with you over taste.

I didn't listen to Jordy's show for quite some time as I figured he would just be sappy and too over the top...

but when I finally listened to him, he was surprisingly subdued.

Typically bland and neutral, but had good guest and occasionally would drop an inside story.

Just as good an anyone else on the radio, imo. (and not near as bad as most)

It was funny when Jordy first started he tried nixing caller nicknames and claimed this wasn't going to be your typical BR show....fast forward a few years and he's spending 2 hours taking calls on people's score predictions for the game

Jordy's own reason he gave for leaving the Hornet's gig was he said he was tired of the travel and wanted to be spending more time with the two little kids he has.
I have never understood the knock on Jordy. He's pro LSU and conducts himself with class. He's got far more real life away from btr experience than the others. I remember when he first started his radio show someone called and said "this is the so an so"( I don't remember the name" and Jordy said "we're not going to do that on this show-what's your real name?" He took control and didn't let callers walk all over him. I appreciated that due to the little group that called every show looking for airtime.

as I said above, that policy didn't last long.

that call was also from carl the cat, who was a regular caller on that show. So yeah....

It's all good. Frankly, I'm gonna' miss them all. It's music or talk on my ride and music has all just become "noise" to me. GETTIN' OLDER FOR SURE

I sure thought the call was from the sewer rat. Jordy would have known Carl the Cat-everyone does.
I could be mistake-that was a few years back and in the first week of his show and my memory is no money winner.

Good "talking" to you boys. Gotta' go get my day started. Later

bullshite. He was canned. The Hornets didn't think he was prepared enough or worked hard enough. Victor is way better than Jordy on the Hornets games...and I am not even close to being a Victor fan.

Jordy has been shite canned by the Hornets and by LSU. Bridges have been burned. He won't even be doing the Miles TV show next year.

His show from Shreveport was aired here back around 2000.

Dude was more condescending than Chris Landry IMHO. Prodigious name-dropper on a much larger scale than Jordy. Liked to call LSU fans Bayou Billy's and the like.

But what bothered me the most was he would feign and inside knowledge of LSU sports he really didn't have. He hadn't worked the LSU beat in probably 20 years by that time and was a national studio guy and his old contacts had no insight into the program.

I do remember him saying on that show prior to the LSU/Ga. Tech Peach Bowl in 2000 that Tech would win easily because "quite frankly, Georgia Tech is better than LSU at every position on the field."

Chris Landry was the best thing to happen to BR radio in years.

So you hold a grudge cause of that???? YES Ga TECH looked better than LSU going into that game. QUIT being a HELPLESS HOMER. GEEZ.

To each his own I guess. I find him to be condescending and a shameless self-promoter. He is not an LSU homer, which in fact is the one thing I do like as I do appreciate honesty over conformity. He was right on J.R. but got ripped for it at the time. But I can't get past the snootiness and condescension. For those who can, he can be insightful.

If that were the only thing I could easily tolerate the guy. The list is much longer than that one example, just a recollection of him eating crow that I enjoyed. Absolutely zero to do with homerism. And it's in no way a grudge, just a genuine lack of respect for the guy.
