We’ve had a few threads on here about them and Joel Klatt loves some Iowa.

Side note: I want Ryan Day to stay at Ohio State, easily the most punchable face in college football.

We have seen Stroud in the NFL and the batch of receivers. Justin Fields was very good in college.

Honestly Urban gave him an Italian sports car and he is on the autobahn going 55.

He hasn't done anything to elevate the status, his best game is a loss to UGA last year.

How many of those are Penn St? They are always an over rated mess.

playoffs
1-1 against Clemson
0-1 vs Ala
0_1 vs UGA

Again with that talent they should be better than .250.

I was looking at this OSU season earlier and my goodness how gay.

I think Mich lost 4 games that season. They beat the same version of some lame af 1940s football team over and over. And those teams take turns being ranked high to begin the year, losing to OSU in a sweet top 10 matchup, then they go off to beat teams in the putrid BIG and inch their way back around the top 10.

Meanwhile SEC teams have to deal with UGA, Alabama, and LSU taking turns being all-time great. That mixed with Ole Miss, Tenn, aTm, Mizzou and plenty others randomly up and having really dangerous teams.

That 5 loss UF teams with Trask Toney and Pitts is a great example. Sure they were a bit inconsistent and you could watch Wisconsin and see a more disciplined team. But for a TOP team, Wisconsin is literally incapable of beating you. While that 5 loss UF team was all anybody could handle on a good day.

I need to examine this 8-5 thing. On its face I doesn’t seem like a great way to judge Day.

That would be Brian Kelly. It was Jimbo but he’s gone.

Going after Lou Holtz puts him over the top, no one that isn’t a Buckeye fan likes him.

Alabama was a blowout. The first Clemson game hinged on several questionable calls. Reversing the scoop and score was ludicrous. Your receiver took four steps with the ball in his possession. The Georgia game went down to the last play of the game.

Goddamn man. You’re an Alabama fan. Stop sucking your conferences Dick. LSU is 3 times more likely to lose 4 or 5 games routinely than they are to being “all-time great”. Georgia has been great the last two years and maybe this year. Before that they may have been the most underperforming program in the nation for 40 years.

Seriously. This is who he attacked. Congrats on your “tough” football team beating the opponent (with arguably the dumbest and most inept head coach in all of college football) less 1-man.

That’s not the point.

The point is they DO have those years where they’re that good. And they’ve done it with every style of football you can imagine. And the years they aren’t that good guess what, someone else steps up, with another style of football, and is dangerous as hell.

The team you just shite on would EEEAAASSSIIILLLLYYY be the 2nd best program in your conference and has 3 NCs in the last 20 years and plenty seasons where Alabama is the only thing that kept them from competing for more.

You shitting on them is my exact point. We don’t all get to play cookie cutter unathletic ground and pound teams whose defense is ranked high mostly due to style in your conference.

Then you have Alabama. And Georgia. Auburn takes a turn being ridiculously good sometimes. So does UF. And then ~5 other programs feel froggy and have seasons where they are dangerous. The most made fun of team in the conference has the most talent in the damn country.

It’s such a far cry from gearing up to beat those boring arse Big 10 teams.

Blindly saying Day is the man cause he’s 8-5 against top 10 teams is a joke. I find it weird that y’all cling to him like this is your peak and nobody can do better. He’s wasting unbelievable rosters and individual talents.

Ed did it in year 3 at LSU and only his 6th season as a full time head coach.

Of course. 2019 LSU is up there. 2011 was unreal. Top 40 CFB team of all time, right? Won a NC in 2003 and what, 2007? Plenty other NC caliber teams in that span. Won NCs with 3 different coaches and been to the SECCG with 4.

Head and shoulders better than anything the Big 10 has to offer in that span and OSU fans rolling their eyes at them.

If that doesn’t show you the different planets we’re talking about here with the SEC and Big 10, idk what will.

8-5 vs top 10 teams when you’ve got 0 NCs and 1 playoff win is meaningless.

LSU has better upside and you know it. Their coaching transitions cause higher volatility in the W/L column.

What do you think the outcome would be if they played this year and at what confidence?
