there is a Bud Grant, Dan Reeves, Marv Levy.

I think Shanahan is on the bad side of this yin yang.

Shanahan still has to lose two more as an HC to join that group

agreed. refused to run the ball for a big portion of the game when they had the lead, got too fancy.

the outside run plays were working.

all in all, Mahomes is just tough to beat. you have to be perfect, and they werent

28-3 counts as two.

Not really fair to lump in Reeves with those two. Reeves never had the better team in the Super Bowl and pulled off one of the biggest upsets in playoff history in the 1998 NFCCG.

I forgot Reeves coached Falcons in 1998. That was actually one of his best coaching jobs.

Chris Chandler’s 1997 and 1998 seasons were phenomenal when you look at the rest of his career. Something clicked.

People forget that the ‘98 Falcons went 14-2, they just happened to have to face a 15-1 Vikings juggernaut in the NFCCG.

The Falcons won that game.

Correct, but the general consensus felt like that the Vikings were a shoo-in to go to the Super Bowl and that it was a “shock” the Falcons won (Gary Anderson’s miss notwithstanding)

Joe Gibbs might be the best of all time.

3 world titles with 3 different QBs.

I mean you were probably saying this about Andy Reid just 5 years ago.

When you consider that, highly underrated.

If I’m remembering correctly, Gibbs and Parcells are the only two head coaches to win a SB with two different starting QBs.

And none of the 3 QBs were hall of fame guys. Gibbs knew how to run an organization. If ever there was a CEO type coach he was it. His success in other sports supports that as well.

the bad side of making more in a year than you'll make in 3 lifetimes? doesn't seem too bad

Andy Reid didn’t win a Super Bowl until his 21st year in the league. Shanahan has only been a head coach for 7 seasons and has four NFC champ games and 2 Super Bowl appearances.

Everyone wants everything right away. Chill out.
