really tough call

I agree, but I give last night the at least slight edge.

Seeing something like that happen for the first time EVER > seeing something like that happen for the first time in my lifetime (while knowing it had happened once in, say, my Dad's lifetime).

Before last night, I'd probably say that I would think it would matter if I was there in person (which I was for 2003, but not last night) - I don't think it does now.

Perhaps to make the point even better, there's no way watching the game in BR in 2004 on TV could have come close to watching the game in NO last night.

As I said in another thread, last night was head and shoulders bigger than the 2007 NC.

i'm a bandwagon saints fan and i will say this meant a lot to me being how much i love louisiana and all the media hype this game has been...i would rank this victory close to any LSU championship but not quite up there

and to clarify, when i say bandwagon, the saints have always been my team and i watch them on TV, but i'm not a diehard like i am LSU

Funny thing is, I still consider myself probably a bigger LSU fan than Saints fan (if someone put a gun to my head and made me rate such things), but I, nevertheless, give last night an edge over LSU's first BCSNC.

My sentiments exactly.

i think if we had played USC instead of OU in 03, it would have been that much more intense.

That game was awesome, but it still felt a little muted after the USC lovefest, and OU's raping against KSU.

That's a good point. There were more than a few things surrounding that game that created at least a slight letdown factor.

None of that was really in play last night (which is one of the things that sort of pissed me off with the media trying to construct some sort of David vs. Goliath factor here).

It truly lived up to the Clash of the Titans hype it should have gotten for the past two weeks.

All those damn cops lined up at midfield preventing the other goal post from being torn down was really fun to watch from the stands.

how it got so pro-colts slanted I'll never know. I really never doubted that the Saints would win, and frankly I thought they might blow the Colts out.

I certainly didn't see the Colts will romp argument. God sports media sucks.

to be fair most analysts did pick the colts, but in a close one

still the manning love for the past 2 weeks made last night especially sweet.

I'm definitely a bigger LSU fan than Saints fan, and I've followed both my entire life. If someone put a gun to my head and said I could only follow one, either CFB or NFL it wouldn't even be a choice to me. I'd pick CFB without a second though.

Long time LSU season ticket holder, but the Superbowl is the world's largest stage. The 2 week love fest with New Orleans on sports TV was great.

Superbowl>>>>>>>>BCS 2003 or 2007

As my name indicates I am not an alum of LSU. So the Saints Super Bowl is bigger by a little.

Not from N.O. but I'm a bigger Saints fan than LSU, so last night was much more special to me. I even saw LSU win one national title in person, but there was nothing like last night. Not really sure why

You're not a bandwagon fan as long as you cheered for the SAINTS during their down years and didn't root for another team because they had better years during that period.
