I still can't believe Floyd didn't make Conor at least come down to 150lbs. Seems like fighting at 155 will be an advantage to Conor. On the other hand I'm assuming that being smaller isn't quite the disadvantage in boxing that it is in MMA?

It is a disadvantage, but not much of one vs someone like Conor who has a prospect's skill level, at best.

I don't know that Floyd would take a fight vs any professional boxer at 154 today. Not that I'd favor all of them to beat him but a few would be favored, and it'd be too much risk for not enough money.

Floyd is 40 now.

Father time will do work.

And he hasn't fought in 2 years. All these highlights of Floyd in his prime mean nothing.

It looks as if he is back pedaling could be wrong there champ. I am taking nothing away from him he is a great boxer and it is a winning formula, it just kills the sport from a viewing perspective.

You're clearly just looking to hate. Or you need to get your eyes checked.

That's because you're not a fan of boxing. You're a fan of brawling.

That dude is scared of Mcgregor irl though. Mcgregor threw a flag in his face and foes nothing. Mcgregor tries to knock his hat off and does nothing. Mcgregor put his hands on his head like a little child and does nothing.

He will win at boxing though.

There is nothing to gain if he hits McGregor before the fight.

Would be funny to see the look on his face after Conor kicked him one time in the shin.

This is a gimmick, it was always a gimmick, and it will always be a gimmick. The only thing that can save boxing is two heavy weights emerging to walk to the middle of the ring and beat the shite out of one another. The small, fast, technical shtick has run its course.

Boxing needs another Hagler/Hearns type of fight to get the general public interested again. Those guys whaled on each other the entire fight.

Mayweather may be a terrible person and a completely unlikable personality. But inside of that ring, he is pound-for-pound one of the greatest boxers of all time.

He's going to beat his arse in a little over a month for a shitload of money. Getting in his face to prove that he's not scared seems a bit silly.

ETA: Not reacting in no way shows that Floyd is scared of him IRL. IMO, of course.

Floyd prolly is scared of him irl but like you said that's not why he isn't doing anything. They have an agreement not to touch each other and penalties put into place if they do.

Conor would whip his arse in a real fight. Floyd knows this. I don't think that makes him scared, though.

But yeah, getting in Conor's face to defend his honor seems incredibly pointless when (a) he knows that Conor is just selling the fight, (b) both of them know that punches won't be thrown, and (c) he gets to actually beat Conor's arse in front of millions of people for a lot of money.

I don't think there's any fear on either side. I think the two actually like each other. Wouldn't be surprised if they're cracking up after the cameras are off.

They probably do have an agreement not to touch each other. But this is down right disrespectful and he doesnt even flinch.

So not flinching is how you determined he was scared? Seems a tad counterintuitive. Seems almost like floyd dgaf what terry conklin 2.0 does around him.

The guy has a stellar resume and deserves some of his praise. But these proclamations go too far and the "pound for pound" stuff is just BS. All these smaller guys get to hide in these smaller weight classes and he has never jumped 10-20lbs to fight somebody. Yet I have regularly watched Heavyweights fight guys with 25lb+ differences. One of Holyfield's first defenses was against a 42 year old Foreman (LINK ). Foreman had a 50lb weight advantage was one of the strongest boxers of all time. Mayweather does something like that, I'll start being impressed..
