You can't have monopolies that control the playoffs and that monopoly has an in-bed deal with one Conference... Conflict of interest.

So if LSU was in Bama’s shoes you would feel the same way?

A school with LSU’s integrity would vacate a playoff birth they didn’t deserve

Write the games out then try & make this same point

I see this point continuously made, so let's see...

According to some in the SEC, FSU isn't great. Miami, UNC, and Clemson are all trash.

Well, FSU beat LSU without knocking Jayden Daniels out of the game. Then they handled Florida in the Swamp, even with Florida being gifted 7 points at the beginning of the game.

Miami whipped up on a Texas A&M team that led Alabama at halftime.

UNC and Clemson beat South Carolina (who actually led at halftime against my team).

Let's go beyond the ACC...

If the SEC is as "deep" as it claims to be, Florida should be able to avoid getting whipped by a Utah team missing its best offensive skill players and Arkansas shouldn't be losing to a bad BYU team at home.

I'd cite other examples, but the SEC made a good decision in not scheduling more P5 games. It's bad enough to lose to New Mexico State at home by 21.

Bama beating the #13 team by 14 is considered a great win

Fsu beating the #15 team by 10 is awful and justification their entire season shouldn’t count

It’s wild

Dude, lsu is the 5th best team in the SEC

Florida is the 9th best team in the SEC

South Carolina 10th

A&M just fired their coach

None of this is overly advantageous when drawing out a claim for Florida state

And yet, Alabama struggled against them.

If the SEC was as strong as it pretends to be, those teams would at least be competitive out of conference. They weren't.

Just like Auburn, Arkansas, and all of the other mediocre SEC squads.

Then, to see who made the top 4, one thing you can look at is record. But, WHO you beat matters. So, to see that, you look at strength of schedule (SOS), and here is how they stack up:

SOS:
#5 ALA
#11 WASH
#13 TEX
#33 MICH
#37 UGA (just in case they had beat Bama)
#55 FSU

See i could buy this if the committee didn't change their minds on what the criteria is every year

I mean it wasn't all that long ago (2016) Washington (12-1) got in with the 60th SOS. Michigan (10-2) was left out with the 33rd ranking. LINK. See that year SOS didn't matter. It was record and conference championship. This year SOS suddenly matters and the record doesn't.

It’s in blackout and white in the instructions they are to follow. FSU has lost their first and 2nd string QBs. They just followed their protocol.

Nope. They lost their first string. Second string would be back in for the playoff games

There are too many variables at play to treat every year the same way.

I just love how SEC homers prop up the conference like it was the best one overall, and in the same breath start shitting on the various teams that non-SEC teams beat. Like, is the conference good or not? (Hint: it wasn't)

How many times are you guys going to make the same thread? Most everyone agrees that FSU deserved to be one of the playoff teams.

This paid political thread is once again brought to you by the Bayou boys from inferior land.

Remember the mantra of Les Miles on those SEC rings, "we're number 2."

More committee members had ties to the ACC and ACC schools than any other conference. Yet FSU got left out.

FSU with Jordan Travis was a good team, hint they aren't without him.
