If that’s the buyout then lol at FSU

The original ACC GOR was supposed to expire in 2027 before it was extended. That may be their best shot. Either that or convincing at least 7 other full time members to leave with them.

My question is does it survive as long as the "ACC survives" or only if the schools that signed to it are still in the conference

Like if 8 ACC schools leave, does that dissolve it or can the remaining members just add more schools, keep the ACC alive, and keep the GOR?

The ACC would collapse if let's say UNC, Ga Tech and UVA leave for the big ten and Clemson and FSU and Miami leave for the Big 12 or SEC and if VaTech and NC State leave for the SEC or Big 12.

You would be left with Pitt, BC, Syracuse, Wake, and Duke. There's no grants of rights for a conference that does not exist.

The Big Ten and SEC need to coordinate.

They’re not shelling 100 years of tradition and academic research affiliation just to say they play in the best football conference. It would take the entire league imploding for them to leave

Research, academia, you mean become an average at best team when playing real competition weekly.

I'm sure they do. Bobby was a wuss. His Christianity gimmick predates Dabo.

First of all, Bobby’s faith was never a “gimmick”. Second, if you think Bobby didn’t have the stomach to compete,…..go look at some of the teams he scheduled back in the early 80’s when he was trying to build that program. Five straight seasons he brought FSU to Death Valley. In one season FSU played 5 consecutive road games at Nebraska, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and LSU.

COLLEGE - ACTIVE NFL PLAYERS- EARNINGS
Alabama 71 $1,268,830,621
Ohio State 61 $1,138,550,984
Louisiana State 58 $926,182,819
Georgia 51 $803,026,117
Notre Dame 47 $628,420,115
Michigan 45 $418,266,477
Florida 43 $529,961,045
Penn State 41 $496,809,094
Iowa 41 $485,846,364
Oklahoma 38 $607,497,257
Clemson 37 $720,111,440
Washington 36 $379,306,820
Wisconsin 32 $695,398,565
California-Los Angeles 32 $428,851,863
Texas 32 $296,193,614
Texas A&M 30 $756,670,173
South Carolina 29 $458,482,263
Oregon 29 $355,974,984
Mississippi 29 $266,079,358
Florida State 28 $582,624,968
Southern California 28 $462,240,440
Miami (FL) 28 $316,932,475
Stanford 27 $384,476,344
Virginia Tech 26 $406,027,170
Tennessee 26 $251,480,460

I’m sure they’d be average, at best. Probably stoop to Nebraska’s level with that mediocre talent pool of theirs if they had to trade up to play Ole Miss, Mississippi State, TAMU, Missouri, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky. They wouldn’t know what hit ‘em.

I wonder if they regret joining the ACC over the SEC back in 90.

You need to think better fit in the B1G is the one FSU is looking into to join and it isn't the SEC.

How is FSU a better fit in the B10 than the SEC? I think FSU fans don't want any part of the SEC because of the competition.

Fsu has a winning record against most teams in the Sec. So it is not like we feel like we couldn't compete. I think most Fsu fans just feel like we can win (national championships) in the Acc or any any conference for that matter. We can stand on own merit and be great. The conference doesn't make us.

With that said the financial aspect of college football is a whole different ball game when you look at it from an administrative perspective. But from a football perspective I've always felt that Fsu could compete with the best on the football field.

The next round of realignment will be the "BIG" one...the one that sets college football up for the next 50 years IMO. It will be interesting to see how big the B1G and SEC go? I could see each going to 20-24 schools and then being done.

B1G EAST:

Penn St
Maryland
Rutgers
Virginia
North Carolina
Duke
Clemson
Florida St

B1G CENTRAL:

Ohio St
Michigan
Michigan St
Notre Dame
Purdue
Indiana
Illinois
Northwestern

B1G WEST:

Wisconsin
Minnesota
Iowa
Nebraska
USC
UCLA
Oregon
Washington
