The actual field goes 300 feet to left field, 350 feet to center and 315 feet to right field.
You can’t play on that
You can push the fences... er, corn... back.

I am pretty sure there has been a property dispute for between the farmers who both have land that intersects the actual field. So they have always had 2 gift shops lol.
One bought out the other a while back.

They should have made this a weekend series, not on a damn Thursday night.

I would REALLY like to see the MLB schedule a 3 game "home" series for each franchise to their respective minor league ballparks once a season.
Would be a MASSIVE boost for their farm fan bases to see the "Big Club" in their small town. And it would be great for TV, local news coverage, etc.
Not talking about playing at their Spring Training facilities either. But the actual "small town" farm club stadiums.
the NHL is really the only other pro league that could do this. But they've got the outdoor game as their "thing" right now.

Why's there a real fence? This is a gimmick so go all the way and make the corn the fence. Ball hit into the corn is a homer and ball that rolls into the corn is a groundrule double. Sure the game will be high scoring but who cares it's one regular season game.

Can somebody explain in the very last scene of the movie why all the cars were lined up to go to the field? I never got that part. Why were they showing up?

He built it. They came. It’s not that complicated.

I mean, obviously I get that. But I felt like I missed something. I was like how does anybody know about a random baseball field in an Iowa cornfield, and what are the coming for?

Terrance Mann’s prophetic speech being fulfilled.
Ray, people will come, Ray.
They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway, not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past.
"Of course, we won't mind if you look around," you'll say. "It's only twenty dollars per person." They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it. For it is money they have and peace they lack.
Mark: Ray, just sign the papers.
Mann: And they'll walk out to the bleachers, and sit in shirt-sleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game, and it'll be as if they'd dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick, they'll have to brush them away from their faces.
Mark: Ray, when the bank opens in the morning, they'll foreclose.
Mann: People will come, Ray.
Mark: You're broke, Ray. You sell now or you lose everything.
Mann: The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball.
America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
This field, this game -- it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again.
Ohhhhhhhh, people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come.

The youth game this week used the original field and there was no fence. And the kid hit a GS into the corn. It was awesome. The outfielder walked into the corn to get the ball and he didn't disappear.

Is this game for the books? Or just an exhibition?
