I was born and raised a Yankee fan. It's good now, wasn't so great growing up in the 80s though.

89 Cubs had a great season. The Hawk is one of my all time favorite players.

Then I migrated over to the Braves in 91, since I was only 10 yrs old & had no loyalty whatsoever. Been a fan ever since. I hate that they aren't on TBS anymore.

I would still like to see the Cubs win a WS just once. I think it will be good for baseball. Remember how crazy everybody got when they were up 3-1 on Florida in 2003?

Im young so I was always a braves guy growing up. I vaguely remember watching the 96' World Series with my dad. Smotlz, Maddux, Andruw and Chipper, Walt Weiss, Javy Lopez, and Brian Jordan. My favorite player was Griffey though so I followed the Mariners quite a bit also til he was traded.

Loved the Giants, my first little league team was the Giants, so it just made sense to my 6 or 7 year old brain.

The Cubs were my first little league team (not counting the A's in teeball) and I have stuck with them ever since the age of six. All of my other sports teams can be attributed to my dad's favorite teams.

What were you supposed to do if you don't have a team near you in the 80's or early 90's? Watching a superstation team 3-4-5 times a week was better than the weekend game on the network that might show a team more than twice in a month if you were lucky. shite, ESPN didn't even have baseball until 1990.
