Serious question, Falcons Ferrari offense. Do they try and stretch the field with vertical passing, or is it just hitting Julio underneath and having his athleticism get a ton of yards after catch?

julio had a garbage game

roddy had some nice catches in the middle of the field a couple times in the 3rd, but nothing vertical all game

Seems like most of the Falcons' big plays are a screen to Julio Jones are some sort of short crossing route that goes for big YAC

I like the latter more. Ryan isnt a very accurate deep threat passer (see all of last year). Our WRs are good enough to make plays after the catch, let them do that.

As far as tonight goes, Turner is basically useless as a RB. We need to either abandon the run or find something that works. Our defense was lights out all night, our run game worries me.

Yeah, I'm not seeing their offense have any change.

They try to hit Julio in open space so he can run. Check down a bunch. Hit Gonz intermediate routes. And Roddy wherever they can.

I'm still bitter.

I mean it works. It's tough to defend, and Julio is faster than nearly every defender.

But just all the players and media hyped up the offense a great deal as being down the field and fast paced. Which it was nothing of the sort.

I agree with all of this. Our offense is good enough that it will keep us in games but I dont trust our defense to do what it did tonight every game.

We ran a completely different offense against KC last week, not sure why we went back to what we were doing last year.

Truth. Atlanta has to get a playmaker at RB.

I would actually be pissed if I was a Broncos fan. Maybe its just me..but I thought they recovered that fumble.

But yea Matty Ice Gonna Matty Ice.

He outplays Philip Rivers next week.

This is what plagued us last year. We had no "identity". We were constantly fighting btw what the media pinned us (deep threats, go routes) and running Turner 30 times a game for 80 yards.

I saw the same thing tonight that I saw last year. We won but our offense didn't impress me. Our defense on the other hand, hell of a game...

Mike Smith. I have wanted him fired for a couple of years now.
