Just for fun (ignore reality of $$$$$), where would you like to see new race venues? And any that you’d like to go away?

Personally id love a scandinavian location like stockholm/malmo/oslo. Would also be nice to add a North American race in maybe miami. Would also be cool to have a scenic new zealand race.

If i could omit some, i guess id look at getting rid of sochi.

The popularity is growing quickly. Hell even here the 2021 season thread is already over 500 posts and we aren’t even to week 2!

Not quite in the spirit of your post but there was a website or magazine that suggested a blank sheet track using reproductions of all the greatest curves from F1 tracks.

I don't remember their list of curves but I remember the cost estimate to build the track would approach a billion dollars built on otherwise flat ground which is 3-4 times what the average purpose-built F1 track runs today.

Here is a list that I think should be incorporated at such a track:

Eau Rouge
Fairmont Hairpin & Tabac
130R
the final chicane from Circuit Gilles Villeneuve with I am sure a wall of champions
Lisoba
Senna S & Mergulho
Curva Grande
Maggots-Becketts-Chapel
Parabolica
Maybe a more flowing version of the corkscrew though Laguna Seca isn't a F1 track, maybe the corkscrew could work as is since IIRC a Toyota F1 car holds the record there (or did) when it did an exhibition maybe 15 years ago.

I would have high kerbs, gravel runoff (except turn 1) and maybe a decreasing radius turn like China coming out of turn one.

Miami is one of the best choices for F1, looking forward to the day it finally is.

Didn't I read sometime recently that there were thought of doing a New Orleans street circuit? Am I completely making that up?

I would just like a race in an American city, using city streets.

As would I...but...I'd like it to be a track where overtaking is possible in more that one or two spots on the track and P1 position doesn't basically mean you win the race if you don't break down.

It was either in DTS or an individual interview recently with the head of F1 that he states F1 wants to add races within the US.

The goal is to add, I believe, 3 races within the US.

San Diego would be pretty. St. Petersburg, Russia as well.

No one will ever attempt a street circuit in Nola again after the debacle in the early 90s when IMSA tan street circuits in New Orleans.
IMSA Grand Prix du Mardi Gras 1991

Not only was is so bumpy the cars kept breaking, the humidity along with the rain caused the streets to be so greasy, even the rain tires had every single car spinning out of control. It’s quite an interesting clusterfrick to watch though.

Indycar is doing a street race in downtown Nashville this year, using the big Korean Veterans Bridge as apart of the track. If that goes well it would be really cool to see F1 expand the track and do a race in Nashville too.

Also, the Long Beach Grand Prix was originally a Formula 1 race years ago. It would be cool to see that race brought back (using the original track layout that was a good bit longer than the current track layout)

California and Miami seem like the only good cultural fits in the US.

It would be very weird to have a Grand Prix in Boston, or Atlanta, for example.
