Not so. We might have a third all-SEC national championship game in a month.

you can do that AND go to 9 conference games

There wouldn't be the appetite for that I don't think.

SEC needs to go to 9 conference games period
This hurts conferences by regressing all its teams to the mean. As it stands, the SEC has 56 OOC games; reducing that to 42 would give seven SEC teams an automatic extra loss, which would hurt overall ranking more than the slight bump in SOS would help.

The SEC plays eight games and might give us a third all-SEC playoff final. Only one champion has come from a 9-game conference in the combined 24 9-game seasons played by B12/B1G/P-12.

ETA: All that said, there definitely is such an appetite from SEC fans for this. We only get one new game in our individual SEC rotations each year, so that can get stale. I suspect that the P5’s will soon petition the NCAA to eliminate the division requirement for championships games, opening the door for not only much more varied annual scheduling, but another round of expansion/realignment.

Florida has better losses, but I always thought that was an idiotic measurement of a team. Congratulations at failing better than UW.

What better loss implies is Wisconsin would almost surely lose the the games Florida lost, but Florida may not have lost the games Wisconsin lost (and certainly not one of them.)

It's not idiotic to judge two teams based on probable outcomes if the teams switched schedules. UF would be 11-1. Wiscy would probably be 9-3.

Yeah, no way Florida could lose to a bowl team like Illinois.

Wait, I think I've seen enough of your mastery of retorts to get this right:

Which 2019 game was that from?

Eta
And frick your face for making me have to defend against my favorite UF gif of all time. Not even close to cool.

The same one where Florida went 11-1 against Wisconsin's schedule and Wisconsin went 9-3 against Florida's.

No, not like that at all. More like the 2019 game that didn't happen.

So you're against mathematical assumptions now? That's weird.
