Never seen a game, have you my friend?

Hockey at one point had no forward passes. That was a pretty big rule change.

I guess I'm the only person who doesn't think that the DH totally changed baseball. For one thing, it's not a universal rule.

Agree. And while it may have changed GM/manager strategy, it didn't fundamentaly change how the game was played.

Football:
Making grabbing the facemask illegal, orignally it was NOT a penalty.
Changing of blocking which allows the extension of the arms/hands, originally it was illegal use of the hands if the blockers hands left their own chest.

Please explain how it did.

Apparently, you've never seen a pitcher hit before.

I said it changed strategy. But it didn't change the "rules" of baseball. The DH still counts the exact same as the pitcher hitting. He still has the same strike zone, the same 4 bases to travel, the same 1 run for scoring, etc.

They still do in the NL, so baseball is not totally changed. Plus, the DH didn't alter the nature of the sport in any manner.

You two have heard of the American League, right?
What happens in the World Series?
Are you saying the managers use the exact same strategy in NL parks as they do in AL parks?
That's absolutely absurd.

Widening of the field by 10 feet.
Totally changed the passing game.

Because it's not in both leagues means that the game is not totally changed. A few interleague games and at most four postseason games doesn't mean that the sport has totally changed.
The impact of the DH is one of the most overstated and over complained about things in the history of sports discussions.
