Yeah, the two line pass was a huge one. Remember when the teams would just bog down the game by running a neutral zone trap?
The shot clock removed an advantage that less talented teams had over superior talent, but then the 3 pt shot made the playing field more level in college and below.
Great calls on the two baseball changes.

It opened up the game and yes, fewer young men died in part because of the forward pass.

College football was almost made illegal by Congress due to the number of fatalities in the sport. The forward pass opened up the game and made it far less dangerous to play.

Or college rugby would be the big sport, as that sport also evolved around the same time.

I agree with everything you said, except the removal part. I would prefer soph's wording of drastically reduced
