Not the staffs fault

If you have a timeout, its ABSOLUTELY the staffs fault. You are paid to instill your knowledge to the young, inexperienced kids, at this level of importance.
You call timeout, period! Remind them of all circumstances, including NO need to cross half court with only 10 seconds left. Situational awareness.
And sometimes thats the issue w younger coaches too. Izzy or Hurley would have called it.
Dukes kid was trying the special pass for a closing dunk, instead of just throwing it high and long, and moving on.

Total Duke choke job from the staff, to the idiot player.

Timeout solves all of that. Answer me this, how is saving that timeout helping the staff today?

Its NOT! You use it. Young kids, even if they played a million all star high school games, are in NO way ready for the pressure in that situation.

Duke’s radio guy yelling for a technical foul for the celebration was pretty hilarious

Because it's rigged.

Yes, because CBS and the NCAA would rig a game to keep Duke of all teams out of the Final Four.

win a ton of regular season games and then choke it away again.

You had a bad line of reasoning going, then you get here and just say frick it.

There were two specific points made in the post you replied to. I'm not surprised you skipped over that.
You failed to convince me that subtler details aren't important when assembling rosters with talented freshmen.

Not to mention that is a sub 20% shot he made, probably closer to 10%.
If you are going to rig a game, it better be more high percentage than a 30-footer at the buzzer.

He had nobody in his face. A free shot. It was much higher than 20%. Nobody really knows if these guys are missing shots on purpose. That goes for NBA too. If they miss it's oh, he tried. What 8f he really wasn't trying?

They shoot all day, every day. They seldom miss if they want to make it.
