He really isn't because we all knew even at the time that Indiana would lose to any other team in the playoff. And not only just lose, get blown out by most of them.

Even I thought Tennessee would lose (I actually picked OSU and the points in a pool) but I don't think people were as definitively sure about Tennessee's prospects as we were Indiana's.

lso, saying “we have to stop caring about wins” is pretty neat

the discussion going on now is the same discussion that's been going on since the playoffs started 10 years ago- are we trying to select the "best" teams or the most deserving teams?

Those are 2 VERY different things. "Best" is mostly subjective and leads to the dreaded eye test. It also means that at some point around mid-october, you should already be able ot just go ahead and pick at least 4-5 teams to send to the playoffs. I mean honestly, halfway through the season would anyone argue that Oregon was NOT one of the 12 best teams? If that's the case why not just go ahead and pencil them in a slot?

The playoffs have always (despite what some people may say) and SHOULD alwasy be about most desrving. That's mostly objective and it's why we even play the games to begin with. Your resume is what should speak for you without using any other kind of eye test. Personally, I believe with almost absolute certainty that bama or ole miss would demolish several playoff teams. Like would probably beat them by 4 touchdowns. BUT...it's why we have a regular season! If bama wanted to make it they shouldn't have lost to vandy and gotten pantsed by OU. If ole miss wanted in they shouldn' have lost at home to a dreadful UK team that finished last in the league. These games HAVE to matter.

Love the Big 12 comments. Especially when a winless Big 12 team beat Arky. Which beat Tennessee. You can play these times of games all day long.

I think people are forgetting how much money Ohio State spent on talent this season. They are the most talented team in the country. The Michigan loss woke them up and they got pissed off. That Tennessee injuries didn’t help them either.

If Ohio State plays like that for the rest of the playoffs then they are winning it all.
