Almost as bad as Marcus Smart committing one of the single dumbest plays I’ve ever seen in a basketball game.

Boston is in such a weird spot. Tatum and Brown are your stars but it’s not enough to win a championship. Outside of those two, there’s not much else around them. No one imposing inside, Kemba is starting to diminish and the bench is thin. If you’re Ainge, wtf do you do?

Ainge has basically been a 13 year old boy on his first date at the movie theater trying to work up the courage to put his arm around his girlfriend but ultimately just doing the yawn stretch 15 times. Now he’s in danger of his girlfriend finding some other dude to finger blast her into oblivion.

Honestly, Ainge is in a bad spot.

He acquired a war chest, but never cashed in on it. Now he's out of assets outside of 2 star-caliber wings.

He made a move with Kyrie, but then got nothing out of it when he lost it. He signed Kemba which was fine, but now he's aging like you said.

He let horford and hayward get away for nothing.

Honesty, the pieces he has are young. A few look like promising role players. I guess the question is, do you eventually trade Brown or Tatum and get yourself 2-3 B level players and some picks?

LINKThere was .3 left on the shot clock with pels possession ending up in a jumpball. Pels didn't want to jump because it would've been a turnover but Smart thought it was their .3 instead of Pels. Pels don't jump, smart catches the tip and heaves a 3/4 court throw and it's a turnover.

Big Danny Assets

How many times has Boston allllllmost landed that piece which would put them over the top, only for some reason or another it not happen. It’s nothing short of amazing how badly he has squandered a total war chest of assets the last 4-5 years.

Muh Brooklyn pick, muh Memphis pick, muh Sacramento pick etc etc

Not finding a way to keep Scary Terry is an obvious mistake. Dude has talent and a Jimmy Butler sized chip on his shoulder

Now that's how to land a spot on comparison.

The problem is if he would have cashed in his war chest for one of the big disgruntled stars (Kwahi, AD, PG13), he would have had to include Jaylen in a trade. Knowing what we know today, Kwahi and AD were both hell bent on going to L.A., and we know PG13 isn't a best player (maybe not even 2nd best) on a championship team. So Ainge would have Tatum, but would have been stuck with PG, which isn't enough, or AD and Kwahi leaving in free agency.

Ainge has been unlucky with the Hayward freak injury, Kyrie being cookoo for coco puffs, and Kemba's knee quitting on him.

Crazy that Brooklyn will likely win a title (or two) before Boston.

There’s more than those three or four guys in the league though. As another poster said above, Boston ALMOST made so many trades but never did.

Really curious how the media treats Boston over the next few years and how Tatum and Brown respond to adversity. Barring injury, they’re locked out of the top 3 in the East (BRK, MIL, and PHI). I trust Morey to keep Embiid and Simmons happy for however long he’s there and to constantly improve. Milwaukee is a tougher one to predict but Giannis/Middleton is a better duo than Boston’s plus Milwaukee has done whatever necessary to put guys around Giannis.
