I wonder where USC would be if Carroll was coming back.

Honestly, I hate seeing...
It's not that I think the team will be terrible next season, but where I think there are a lot of "knowns" about a lot of the top 10 teams. For example Alabama doesn't lose enough to expect them to fall that far, neither does Ohio State or Boise State. Texas on the other hand loses 2 of the most productive players in school history (McCoy and Shipley).
The defense should continue to get stronger under Muschamp, the recruiting class is second only to Florida (and that could change depending on what Hicks and Jeffcoat do), Gilbert looks to be a very capable replacement (who still has a lot of "growing" to do).
My "way to early" prediction for Texas next season is 12-2 going into their bowl game, but I don't think 5th best in the country is reasonable.

Is it possible that coach Les Miles, who led LSU to a BCS national championship in 2007, could be on the hot seat in 2010? LSU fans are growing restless after the Tigers went 8-5 in 2008 and 9-4 in '09. Miles' clock management was questionable at times this season, and his team's offense seemed to have no direction. Quarterback Jordan Jefferson struggled with his confidence, and the Tigers never really got highly regarded freshman Russell Shepard involved in the game plan. The Tigers face some heavy personnel losses with four starters leaving on offense and six leaving on defense. Left tackle Ciron Black will be missed on offense, and three starting defensive linemen and two linebackers will have to be replaced. LSU plays a tough schedule, starting with the season opener against North Carolina in Atlanta. The Tigers also will play West Virginia at home and will play SEC road games at Florida, Auburn and Arkansas.
Wow. This actually seem entirly accurate.

I can promise you one of those teams will crash and burn into mediocrity. My money is on Iowa...have the ever strung together 3 great seasons under Ferentz?

Yes they have:
2002 11-2 finished 8th
2003 10-3 finished 8th
2004 10-2 finished 8th

I like it, just because I am counting on past history to repeat itself.....how will you feel knowing if you lose to Boise you won't be playing for a title even if you go undefeated the rest of the season?

Should LSU be ranked higher? Where do you see LSU next year?

I hope VaTech beats Boise, then loses to GT. Sadly with GT losing 4/5 of their best junior players next season is going to be a step back

They could if you want to be fair. Some good teams with less notoriety drop further after one loss. It doesn't really matter to me though. If we win we will climb the rankings.
It all depends on our offense line and qb. If they are better we will be better. Plain and simple.......

Not me......I want the system to crack and fall apart! I think Boise wins anyway.....

Why would anything different happen if Boise goes undefeated? The top 2 ranked teams will go, and if Boise is in the top 2 nothing will be any different from any other year.
Of course if Alabama and a BCS school both go undefeated then it won't matter what Boise does.

I want to see.....don't know.

How many teams will be happy about that? If the college football world has the same opinion as this board does it will cause some shite to stir. I want to see that......I want more changes to the system.

Yep...of course I think it will be a much different year than this past one. I think we could see a two loss team in again....against Boise! lol..........
