Of all the shite you can find on the internet to wack your Willy to, do we really need another blond reporter talking NFL football? Jesus how about some damn tradition and real insight here.

Yes. Also, Chris Berman brought sweat and loud noises, not analysis

If I was ESPN, I wouldn't be firing 12 regional reporters making 70K a year. I would fire people making more than a million a year who aren't worth that amount.

I would be firing former coaches and athletes almost exclusively.

Wow, Len Elmore is already 65. I listened to him call many college hoops games growing up.

ETA: Doesn't he still do games on CBS?

How am I a Chicken Little? Im calling it like I see it. I couldnt care less about ESPN folding like a cheap tent in a tornado. What I'm seeing is exactly part of the reason why their tenure is ending....

About 30 people have been revealed, and the race/gender of those folks is exactly what you would expect given the business, yet posters here think it is a microcosm of ESPN's problems.

ESPN is left leaning, but these layoffs and ESPN's problems are far bigger than that.

ESPN has always been the pinnacle for anyone in sports media, making ESPN insulated to real criticism from outsiders not trying to burn any bridges in hopes of one day getting their dream job.

Now they knock themselves off their own pedestal, send all these people back into the 'regular' workforce to ruin that pristine illusion of ESPN to their new coworkers when they find jobs.

Hopefully this will cascade and cause more people in that industry to take off the rose colored glasses and actually call espn out on their BS.
