League of Legends makes 1,000,000,000 more than what Madden Nation ever made and it will only continue to grow.

I understand how the game works, but I just would never get into it because I'm not a PC gamer.

Once you figure it out, you can see clutch plays beginning to build up and it gets exciting, granted, I've only ever watched like huge matches. Not just random people streaming.

No apparently you don't pay attention.... you only listen to the narrative that National ratings are down while ignoring regional ratings, revenue, attendance, etc...

Which is a pretty big deal, no? I'm not saying that people in New York don't still follow the Yankees and sell out the stadium. I'm just saying there is a big issue with national interest yet.... The money is still there.

I'm not ignoring those things, in fact I pointed out that MLB just got a huge contract (the revenue piece)

All I was saying is that despite the decline in national rating, MLB is signing very lucrative deals because live sporting events are the thing ESPN needs right now.

My favorite part of the tourneys, was some of them actually had a Coach. LOL

Considering there are 120+ "champions" you can play, and the fact that all of them fulfill different types of roles and pair up with one another differently...there is insane amounts of strategy involved. Having a coach is a brilliant idea for something like this.

Also considering all the money that is on th eline and the fact that anyone can take your job at any given moment, it's not surprising these teams have coaches, analysts and support staff.

Many teams at this probably have about 10 supporting or coaching the team from behind the scenes now

So glad the the older generation is getting so salty over this. It's entertaining and innovative. This is something that'll only keep getting bigger. I love it.

C'mon, these guys, especially the big dogs in COD n such, really think they are actual athletes.

Only 1 COD pro has ever branched out successfully. Nade and he wasn't even that good in COD.

I think we really need to start our own TD LoL and TD CSGO teams.

LoL made $1,600,000,000.00 last year, so Madden still has the room to make $600,000,00.00 and come up one billion dollars short of LoL.

There is a very small professional Halo scene, but it is dwarfed even by smaller MOBAs such as HotS and Smite.

CS:GO is the only significant FPS esport. We will see where Overwatch lands.

Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. It is the genre that generally encompasses League of Legends, Dota 2, Heroes of the Storm, Smite, and a few other games. All are generally top down action/RPGs derived from Defense of the Ancients (which is reincarnated as dimly Dota 2) a mod for Warcraft III.

HotS is Heroes of the Storm. Blizzard's MOBA.
