Poker at least has personalities, somewhat superstars like Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth. I've seen some of these e-sports guys after winning a tournament and it's just painfully awkward. I'm sure the personalities are out there, so good luck finding and cultivating them, ESPN.

It depends on who you are watching. A lot of the Korean teams are pretty reserved.

Watching the North American region is fun. People get amped up on camera, talk shite during interviews and they have legit rivalries dating back to the game's inception.

If you are a bottom tier team, you get relegated and have to play in a tournament that features up and coming teams. Winner gets a spot in the pro league.

Players from Korea go to Europe and North America to play for more money or because they have open positions. The structure is very much like football, basketball, etc...

Some of these kids are making ridiculous $$$ on sponsorship and streaming alone. It's crazy.

My favorite part of the tourneys, was some of them actually had a Coach. LOL

Guys were playing Call Of Duty and had a coach barking out inspiration and shite to get them hyped.

And yes, to all of those who have never watched a tourney, the people are exactly what you expect to be at a Gaming convention/Tourney.

This word needs to be fricking removed from the English language.

SJW's on one side, video gamers thinking they're athletes on the other, Donald Trump v. Hilary Clinton for president.

This country is so fricked.

It's the term used to denote competitive video games. I don't know why you would let a word like that matter.

Would e-competition somehow make the activity more enticing for you?

That is so much of a broader thing than the competitive scene in these games. You really need a separate term. Esport seems fine to me.

Looks pretty slick, I like the color scheme. A little bit worried about that time slot though.

I do wonder how they'll handle the League setup.

With League switching to BO3 format with 2 LCS studios this split and all. They had to hire multiple new casters, production crew, build a completely new 2nd studio, etc.

I assume ESPN will just have a studio set up in their LA campus and then have a few guys inside the studios.

I'm just following up on what people are saying. It is clear there is a generational gap in baseball fandom. Not every crisis ends in disaster, but there is something to pay attention to there.

I'm guessing you know nothing about "esports" if you are talking about the big dogs in COD.
