Nashville is booming.
Once the Titans' new stadium is ready next year, if they can build the new MLB stadium on the site of the old Nissan Stadium, then expansion there would be a no brainer. Catch a baseball game and walk across the pedestrian bridge to Broadway before or after the game.
Close enough to be a fun weekend road trip from several NL cities, but still at least 200 miles away from the nearest team.

SLC is 1000' lower than Denver. Not sure if that makes any difference or not

Should be utah. Has population. Market size and funding to do up a big deal if multi option stadium and plaza.
Portland and raleigh are terrible options and Orlando doesn't deserve shite, not does state of Florida for baseball. Great spring training, not permanent team. Both of their teams already were in trouble.

Will you be able drink beer at the game in Utah? Will you have to have a club membership and will they have other silly rules about drinking beer at a baseball game.

The article lists Montreal. Baseball has a history of bringing teams back to cities after a team leaves. Royals, Mariners, Brewers, Senators (Nationals), New York.

I feel like Orlando is fricked now that Tampa is keeping the Rays. That seemed to be their most realistic chance.
Portland
Salt Lake, Nashville, and Raleigh/Charlotte all seem to be good choices. Raleigh would be my #1 pick of the three.

There are 8 teams in the pacific and mountain time zones so I’d leave that alone under the assumption they’re going to 4 or 8 team divisions.
I’d do Raleigh and Nashville but SLC seems to have a strong bid so I think they’ll get one.

I’ll expand. Portland gets less rain than all MLB cities outside of California, Arizona, and Colorado during the MLB season.
Dry as a bone and by far the largest market. Portland should be #1 for expansion.

There's the Orlando Dreamers group that actually thought it was a possibility until recently when the Rays finally got a new stadium deal.

Marlins absolutely need to relocate. I'm willing to give TB a chance now that they're finally getting a stadium that isn't a nightmare to get to.

I would think SLC is a slam dunk but it'd have to be a retractable roof - not just for the snow, there's days where the wind isnt blowing and the pollution from the refineries and mineral smelters blankets the city.

It’s the year 2026 and people still believe support is measured in butts in seats.
I don’t know how many times it takes to drill it into people’s heads that support is mostly about TV viewing and corporate sponsorships. South Florida is the seventh largest metropolitan area.

No need to have markets with two teams. Move the Mets to Charlotte or Raleigh, White Sox to Nashville and Angels to SLC.
