Complaint to management comes amid debates over race and diversity at media outlets

ESPN anchor Sage Steele has told management she believes she was excluded from a special the network aired on race last month because she wasn’t considered by certain Black colleagues to be an authentic voice for the Black community, a person familiar with the matter said.

Ms. Steele, one of the network’s most prominent on-air personalities, voiced her concerns to ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro in early June, saying the incident showed the network has a divisive work environment, the person said.

Ms. Steele said colleagues told her she was considered for the special by the executive in charge, Michael Fountain, until two of the other on-air personalities involved, Elle Duncan and Michael Eaves, complained, saying Ms. Steele wouldn’t be accepted by what they considered the Black community, according to the person familiar with her account to management.

Ms. Steele’s critics on social media have accused her of not being supportive enough toward the Black community and being insensitive in her comments about racial-justice protests

I'll avoid judgement until Joe Biden tells me if she is black or not

It's just funny to me how this shite has devolved from "Black Power!" to "frick Jews" and "frick other black people"

I'm sure this was what it was all about.

And the racists like Jemele Hill probably led the ban.

Smart, she’s only half black and it’s obvious she identifies with her other side more.

“people come to us for their sports,” and that “for the most part, I think we leave [social and political issues] to the news networks.”
“Not everybody agrees with me on that, not everybody I work with agrees with me,” she said. “That’s my personal opinion, that [sports are] where we go to escape.” - Sage Steele
Having stated she didn't want to talk about it plus being critical of kneeling players in the past will have some people wondering why she wants on that discussion.
As Sage said about Jemele Hill when she was catching shite "she put that onto herself of her own volition".

Saw a story about her Dad a few years ago. Her Dad is black and Mom is white. Her Dad was the first black player at Army West Point. Her Brother is in media relations for the Ravens. A very impressive family who appear to not identify themselves as anything other than Americans. This is why she was excluded because she doesn't play the racial I am victim bullshite.

She has to identify as white to get her white privilege

Somebody needs to tell her

Ironic that she feels like she was discriminated against by black ESPN employees

I agree. But it does beg the question that saintsfan asked about why she even wanted to be included in the 1st place. Now, if she just wanted the courtesy of being asked so she could turn it down and express her reasons, then I understand that. Or did she actually want to participate?

Ballsy move on her part to name the 2 people who she alleges complained about her.

The movement can’t even get a solid message together. Some really do want police reform, but then a percentage wants black supremacy, another percentage wants all cops eliminated, another percentage are just anti capitalists and then lastly there is another percentage just marching around with no clue what they actually want.

My favorite thing is Desean Jackson of all people helped tank it by posting a supposed Hitler quote. And it wasn’t even anti Semitic but it was a launching point for others to start calling out Jews
