Best QB ever may be up for debate. But this is not. The discussion starts at second best after Dan Marino.

Maybe I'm wrong...but looking at the stats...

Marino was CLEARLY a better QB than Elway until about 32..

Marino was my favorite QB growing up. Peyton Manning is the only QB I would rank over him yet they have 1 super bowl win between the two of them. Don't care.

I agree, one of the quickest releases you'll ever see. that 84 season where he threw for 5K yards and 48TD's is just incredible, especially for that era of football.

yeah injuries slowed Marino down, but more then anything he had no talent around him

He did make OJ Mcduffie lead the league in recieving one year

In Ken O'Brien's defense, he was a damn good quarterback...but he had Marino and Kelly in the same division, they were lucky to get in the playoffs

Yea, that or the fact that he's one of the most selfish players to ever play the game and never cared about anything but his stats. Marino had the talent to be the GOAT by a good margin, but he never came close to realizing it.

I really enjoy docs like this.

Came away with a whole new "wow what a doucher" perspective on Elway. I knew about the situation but i never knew it was that bad.

There's nothing really likable about John Elway

I don't know, I was happy to see him finally win a Super Bowl the year they beat the Packers.

I wasn't surprised when they repeated. They had one of the most methodical running attacks I'd ever seen. For some reason, I remember thinking they were screwed when Shannon Sharpe got hurt in that second Super Bowl but ATL wasn't much of a threat to Denver in that game after all.

Marino never benefited from a running game like Elway did either. I mean, I guess Elway had to wait a long time himself but.... god almighty... he didn't have to do much once Terrell Davis got rolling.

hell, the year the Broncos repeated Bubby Brister played a few games for the Broncos because Elway got hurt. I don't think they lost either when he had to play. Their running game was just that good.

It was one sided. There wasn't much "counterpoint" to it at all and pretty much everything other than the insinuation re. LA there wasn't much to it.
