Then where's Jim Plunkett?

Probably sucking on his thumb wondering how Eli doubled him up on passing yards and passing TDs.

Ordinarily, a litmus test for the HOF is "did I feel like I was watching a HOFer when they played?"

Eli is a weird case because the answer is yes* but not because of his talent but because we just always assumed that stat inflation, NY hype, the Super Bowl win over 18-0 Patriots and the name on his jersey would sneak him in. We were acclimated to Eli getting a fuzzy magnifying glass long before this day.

So you got some feeling watching Troy Aikman hand the ball off to Emmitt smith or was it the PA fake throw to Irving or novachek. He’s in for the same reasons Eli will be in..

Is this edgy? I get it was the superbowl both times, but was he ever all-pro? Season MVP? Top five in season even?

No but neither were other comparable QBs. Troy Aikman for example

Let's get this straight.. Are you saying Eli doesn't deserve to be in the HOF?

He's definitely getting in. Better players than him will not.
And for the "he did it in the Superbowl against those Pats" crowd, Justin Tuck had 4 sacks in those two games and he actually was an all-pro. He's got to settle for the Giants Hall of Fame.

Wilson has a better HOF monitor score from pro football reference, along with Matt Ryan, Rivers, and Roethlisberger. Stafford will pass him soon

None of these should ever be in the hall of fame.

As he should, first ballot HOFer.

He wasn’t an elite or even anywhere near elite QB. He was average for a very long time, that’s shouldn’t be HOF worthy.

There were some times in 2014 when i thought Coughlin was going to bench him. He was god awful.

Those 2 plays in the SB the helmet catch and the manningham sideline catch are top 10 all time lucky plays but they happened.

Nothing about his regular season numbers says hall of famer he's very mediocre.
